Lint_Huffer7 wrote: Sat Feb 06, 2021 5:02 am I hate to interrupt the fascinating discussion as to which operating system sucks more, Winsucks or OSuX or Linsucks, but I would love it if there was a way to copy/paste patches in order to organize them in banks.

Right now it looks like all loaded patches automatically load into Factory Bank A, and I can't really figure out a way to move them into Custom.

Also, assuming that the six "Empty Soundbanks" are just "THIS SPACE RESERVED FOR FUTURE PRESETS", it'd be nice to have more than one Custom bank.

I still use Gforce synths often enough that I'm not immediately put off by the "presettin' like it's 1999" aesthetic, but at the same time, I'd kinda like to at least have a tiny tiiiinnnyyyyy bit of ketchup with my austere preset-system gruel. Having a nice drop-down is great, but having 23 of 24 "quick-access" spaces within that drop-down devoted to factory packs which I'll never personally be using is a bit of a pain.

And what would be really awesome is - since there's no samples or custom wavetables - we could actually export to (and import from) XML. I find this really invaluable for dealing with the occasional DAW crash - if the patch I've created isn't really something I plan on using outside of one particular project, I can just copy the XML into the "notes" area of my project file, and if I crash and lose the current VST settings (happens sometimes, just enough to keep me on my toes :D), I can restore just by pasting the XML back in, instead of having to save a zillion various presets which I've only created in order to protect against in-project preset-losing crashes.
I am curious to know how you can export to (and import from) XML. :)

We are doing a demo-song contest for Warlock. You can win these prizes:

1st prize: Tone2 Complete Bundle (worth $999; includes all synths, effects and expansions)
2nd prize: A Tone2 synth of your choice (worth up to $189)
3rd prize: An effect of your choice (worth up to $79)
4th prize: A sound-set of your choice (worth up to $59)

How can you take part?

1) Create one or more impressive jingles that use several instances of Warlock. The song style can be any style you want. Make it interesting with some modulation though. External drums or EQs are allowed. Be careful with compressors, limiters or clipping.

2) Save your track(s) as a 96 kHz WAV file (if possible). Each jingle should be between 30 seconds and 60 seconds length and be submitted as a separate file.

3) Send it to markus[a t]tone2[dot]com before March the 1st

4) We pick the best jingles and present them as demo-tracks on our website

5) The winners will receive their price by email

Examples: https://www.tone2.com/icarus.html

Further terms: By submitting a demotrack you grant us the permission to use it for advertizing. The licenses of the prizes are NFR (not for resale).

We are looking forward to your submissions!
Markus, by Jingle do you mean promotion for Tone 2, like a commercial?

Many Thanks for this fix !

With that ??????? Random Morph-Mode a user can create great musical usefull Fx-Pads.

Beside Warlock, I bought 15 month ago the Icarus 2 upgrade.
Unfortunately I don't use music software with online activaion, dongles, CRs or clouds.
You promised in an other thread that the online activation for Icarus will be removed. When will this be the case, because I would like to use Icarus 2.

Post

Your post is off-topic and I already explained it to you:
You only need to connect your pc for a single time to activate Icarus2. Then it will continue to work offline for an infinite time. It's very easy.
None of our plugins did ever use a dongle, a cloud or 'virtual-dongle' drivers.
We also do not transmit any private data from the user. We do not use cookies on our website or collect user-data.
Unlike many other protection-schemes we do not make changes to the operating system. There is no risk that something gets damaged on your computer at all.

You can also continue to use Icarus1. Icarus2 is downward compatible. It will be able to load your old projects.
It is possible that CR will be removed with v2. 1. I can't give a timeline for this update, since Icarus2 works perfectly and there are currently many other things with higher priority

OK, no problem, I bought Vital which is dongle-free and also needs no online-activation and also have Serum !

Back to Warlock:
Exists there a way to change the GUI colour ?

Post

During last december i spend few weeks with early beta version of Warlock, focused on exploration and sonic experiments,so simplicity of it may mislead you and couple important stuff may remain under radar.
After last few days intensive work with Warlock need to share what i already adore about it:
1.Massive sound - compared to Sylenth1,which is like standard for fat sound,Warlock is probably twice deeper.
2.Amazing analog filters - personal favorite is LP 12db,very pleasant to my ears.
3.How easy with few modifications transform cold digital in warm analog, simple osc to massive supersaw.
The supersaw function is impressive with the simplicity of making huge sound.
Still expeimenting with all these combinations of detuned super, mega, giga algorithms :)
Cheers :)

At this point it doesn't appear there is a way to change the GUI color. There is no separate resources folder that contains skin files to edit or any way I can find to change colors.

I like the current colors but of course being able to customize any interface is always a welcome feature.

You are right.

In general, I also have nothing against the GUI, but if possible I would give it a bit a golden touch !

The first Firebird had/has some skin options in the setup page, and there is also a "golden" skin version (which I like).
Would be nice if Markus could offer similiar options for this Warlock ( or better Firebird successor).

The plugin itself has to support it. The Valhalla suite comes to mind - this is the default preset for Vintage Verb:
<ValhallaVintageVerb pluginVersion="2.1.2" presetName="Default" Mix="1.0" PreDelay="0.25" Decay="0.4204803109169006" Size="1.0" Attack="0.5" BassMult="0.6230387687683105" BassXover="0.4447011053562164" HighShelf="0.0" HighFreq="0.5" EarlyDiffusion="1.0" LateDiffusion="1.0" ModRate="0.2454545646905899" ModDepth="0.3799999952316284" HighCut="0.5905388593673706" LowCut="0.0" ColorMode="0.3333333432674408" ReverbMode="0.0416666679084301"/>
Strictly speaking, it's not proper XML, but it's the same principle. If you highlight the text within that quote, and copy it to your clipboard, you can then load up an instance of Valhalla, wiggle the knobs around a bit so they're not at the default positions, then right click the preset name, and select "paste from clipboard", and it'll load the Default preset.

In Jeskola Buzz, you can also copy any preset in any VST to XML, or a condensed ASCII. This is what the default Vintage Verb preset looks like in Buzz ASCII:

It's incredibly useful, and is what I generally do for machines like Warlock that don't offer a "native" XML/ASCII export - but it's a bit of extra clicking, and I'm a lazy sod :D

How would that be any quicker or easier than simply loading a preset ?

Update - new feature:
Added ability to copy & paste patches in the FILE menu

Fix:
The GUI did not open on some hosts with certain zoom-factors. It was caused by a bug in Steinberg's VSTGUI. It did affect also plugins from other developers. I collaborated with Steinberg to fix it. Reference: https://forums.steinberg.net/t/plugin-z ... rly/694652
