I finished my first track which I mixed completely on my new Focals: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=554320. It was much easier to mix on monitors than on cans, hopefully it sounds better than my previous mixes but that is for others to judge upon.

Go with headphones that have a nice even sound. There are plenty of recommendations around here. Small speakers can't give you fullness of sound. And don't most people listen to music mostly through headphones these days?

Focal make some great speakers. Good choice.
I've been using CMS 50s at home for about nine years now.

I've been eyeballing the Neumann KH 120 A speakers for a while and I've read some pretty good reviews online so far about them! However even those might be too big for the space I'm currently in (10x10) so I'm kind of leaning towards the KH80s. At $499 each the KH80s aren't the cheapest small monitor option but they look like a good option. Anyone use these at all ?
The SOS Review says lots of good about them

I do have a small gone studio like yours (even smaller, it’s 7 by 8 ft) and my Focal Alpha 50’s are great for this

I think they take a bit of time to "burn" in. I wasn't sure at first, but then one day a good few month later i noticed they sound fantastic.excuse me please wrote: Wed Feb 10, 2021 1:03 pmLook forward to them, haven't got any speakers since last century.Spring Goose wrote: Wed Feb 10, 2021 12:55 pmSound nice too, and they're small.excuse me please wrote: Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:12 amThanks for reminding me!
