It's switchable between "beat" and "fine" detuning modes using the switch immediately below the knob.

Btw - for those of you with the mod depths bug, we have a fix in beta as of a few days ago. DM me if interested to help out with testing.

Iva wrote: Sat Sep 19, 2020 6:32 pm any news on update fixing transmod bug?
it's not currently fixed, and they haven't said anything directly that i know of. but, the developer has come on and stated that it is still being developed and supported, and i'm pretty sure he is trying to fix it if he can, it's just creating some issues because it's taking a while probably. i'm thinking it will be fixed before they stop supporting it. it might be a huge install tho.
I've been waiting for this to be fixed for literally years so that I can buy cypher...

Is this "mod depths" bug the same thing as the transmod bug many have reported over the years, or something else?

The developer stated that there are plans to release maintenance update in Q1 2021, so fingers crossed for the transmod bug fix.

So a little story on Cypher2 and Strobe2, for those of you in the UK this may be of interest to you.....

I got so pissed off of Roli not taking action on fixing the transmod bug on Cypher2 and Strobe2 that I took legal action......and won!

Context:
In the UK “Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content should be of a satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described". This part of the law covers a buyer for 6 years after purchase (which is everyone who bought ether Cypher2 or Strobe2 or both), because of this you're likely in a position to take action yourself.
Basically, if you raise an issue with the vendor about a piece of software they sold you not being fit for purpose then they have an obligation to fix it "in a suitable timeframe". If the don't fix it you can claim 100% of the purchase under this law.

In my case I raised this bug with Roli back in late spring 2019 and started the case on this in summer 2020, this was seen as a suitable timeframe for the issue to be fixed, the vendor relented and I got 100% of my purchase price back.

I used the Citizens Advice to help me with the process, all in all with there help it was an easy process that took less than 10 emails and one letter (which they gave me to fill in the blanks), so a win in my book. The whole process took about 3 months due to the time you have to give them to reply (2 weeks for every email or letter you send).

We've all been totally done-over by Roli/FXpansion so it seemed right to get them to pay for not looking out for their customers.

If you wanted to do the same I recommend you use the link below to the Citizens Advice, give them a call and they will walk you through the process and tell you what you have to write and send word for word. Also if needed the link at the bottom is a a reply form Roli on the bug from over a year ago which you can use to start your own case (we're in lock-down, what else are you going to do!).
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consu ... -download/

I just wish they would fix the bug, Cypher2 and Strobe2 are total beasts but this bug makes them unusable. I'll never buy or recommend Roli products to anyone, their customer support is shocking and never reply (well, that is until you threaten legal action!). So to anyone who bought Cypher2 or Strobe2, this might be worth looking into.
Shout on here if you have any questions on this, I'm happy to share the emails etc. I used in the process.

Cheers

You got damages or a refund?

Angus said above that he was fixing it and asked for Beta volunteers.

edit:
Ironically earlier today, before your post, that fix was made available as a public beta, check your accounts.

Did you ask Roli for a refund before getting Citizens Advice involved??
They have given them for Equator before I think, So probably would have been quicker :tu:
