I have the Affinity apps (Photo and Designer), but, I still find myself editing my photos in Photoshop Elements in 99% for everyday tasks... it's just so damn comfortable, and the automated tools (auto colour correction, auto contrast, auto sharpening) work so damn great that it really makes it hard to work with Affinity, because, they just don't work as good in it. Every time I work with the Affinity apps, I also realize that they require one or two steps more, or, it's just more complicated to understand than Photoshop.
I always find that people are a bit quick by the hand in saying that Adobe just "has the monopoly". Monopolies don't come over night, and they always come with a reason. If every professional could just use a tool you get for 28 € in sale instead (the cost of a one month artistic sub for the Adobe tools), then he would do it.
