Does anyone know of any samples of a toy piano? I use Kontakt. There's a nice Chet Baker tune with the pianist playing toy piano, and I'd like that sound to experiment with. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Take one of the low notes from a piano soundfont, spread it across the whole keyboard and play on the high notes.

Sorry, just an octave higher than the original pitch should do.

This sample collection contains a toy piano:

PMI Consolidated Collection

(You didn't say how much you were wanting to spend.)

Indeed! For that much you could buy several toy pianos, a mic and some studio time!

What a novel idea! Just buy yourself a toy piano and play the real thing! What a revolutionary concept. That's something I would never have thought of!

(Note to self: Must cancel purchase of the 5-DVD, PMI Kazoo and Slidewhistle collection I just ordered.)

I made a soundfont some time ago. PM me if you want it.

Check out "Gort's MiniPiano v3" from the Hammersound.net Piano Soundfonts List.

It is 50kb, contains very smooth Rhodes and Wurli Samples as well as some samples from heavily detuned and wrecked pianos. Just try it yourself!

I have a Jaymar Toy Piano I bought for $20 off of E-bay I've been meaning to sample, if I don't end up working on some other songs tomorrow maybe I'll give it a go.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

I have a good toy piano sampled by a great musician, in Akai format.

PM if you're interested - I'm going to ask the author if I can put his samples online but meanwhile, if you want it I can arrange it for you :)

This is perhaps a little too steel drum in the lower registers but this is chill from my website.. I think that the higher notes work well and being a synth has a better degree of tweakability

Thanks for all the responses. I've never used soundfonts before....I guess I'll download sfz and give it a try.

Nice looking collection, but it might be cheaper to have myself surgically transformed into a toy piano. :)

I'm going to give everything suggested a try later today. Will report back.
