You may be shocked to find out it "finds a loop section" in a sample. Just click on it and you'll see what it does.Dasheesh wrote: Thu Feb 18, 2021 12:02 am i still haven't figured out what the "find loop section does."
It's found some perfect loop points for me so far. Sometimes it misses but then some samples don't lend themselves to looping as much as others.

From the Manual:zyguli wrote: Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:49 pm Does anyone know what's the purpose of having sample position as mod destination in the modulation matrix? I wasn't able to make anything useful with it.
Osc 3 Sample Pos
Allows to set the current sample position for WAV playback, between the first and last sample
of the wave file. Note that in order to specify a sample offset when starting a WAV (e.g. a random
starting offset to make the sound less static), the Osc 3 Init Phase destination must be used
instead.

all it does is zoom to the end of the sample. don't come on here and pretend like this thing works yet. i'm still holding out hope, and will let everyone know when it does. i'm getting super tired of reinstalling this thingy tho.
end of statement.

"Find Loop Region" sets a loop region in a sample. I'm not "pretending" anything.Dasheesh wrote: Thu Feb 18, 2021 1:42 am all it does is zoom to the end of the sample. don't come on here and pretend like this thing works yet. i'm still holding out hope, and will let everyone know when it does. i'm getting super tired of reinstalling this thingy tho.end of statement.
It works just fine here and has for a lot of patches. Are you new to all of this ? Is that what's the problem ?
All you have to do is click on "Find Loop Region" in the drop down menu and it finds a loop region.

Again here's a simple patch that proves the Sample Osc is working within the constraints of single sample import. I don't know what more proof you need.

good question.... the manual doesn't help, and i asked twice on the beta forum and got no answer from the dev.....zyguli wrote: Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:49 pm Does anyone know what's the purpose of having sample position as mod destination in the modulation matrix? i assumed it modulated the start position of the sample, but it doesnt, it creates a glitchy mess that is useless

Thanks, but before posting I read the manual. Unfortunately it doesn't explain much. As soon as a modulation source is assigned to sample position, pitch keytracking for sample osc is gone. And using lfo or mseg for modulation doesn't result in anything sounding remotely useful. I thought it's maybe for basic granular synthesis, but the outcome sounds nothing like it.Teksonik wrote: Thu Feb 18, 2021 1:28 amFrom the Manual:zyguli wrote: Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:49 pm Does anyone know what's the purpose of having sample position as mod destination in the modulation matrix? Random 100% to Osc 3 Init Phase works as described in the Manual.
Guess we'll have to wait for Richard to comment as to the intended purpose of Sample Position.
Oh and I suggest opening a new thread at the Synapse forums. I think it's more likely you'll get a response. Just too much noise in this thread for them to keep up.

New update:
[Feb 23rd 2021 - Dune v3.41 released]
This one is a maintenance update with the following fixes:
VST3: Exporting parameter automation using offline rendering did not work, fixed.
VST3: Using arrows keys to change patches did not work in most hosts, fixed.
PC Installer: When performing a new installation, not all registry entries required for NKS support were properly set up, fixed.
Loading too many/too large samples into a patch could trigger an error message when trying to load the patch again later, fixed.

Happened to notice that filter link doesn't work when the left filter is controlled from an exp pedal.
