Just for fun, I added Amplitube and Guitar Rig to an already energetic chain. There's still a dent in the sheetrock in the shape of a monitor speaker :hihi:

I remember liking Trash 1 quite a bit and I eventually upgraded to Trash 2 but I've found that not only do I not really like Trash 2, I find it to be unstable on my system. I've sent a few crash reports, but received no response.

If I could still use Trash 1 and Spectron (their best plugin) I would feel more love.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

User experience, GUI, time sucker - but I don´t use plugins from the mentioned companys either. Yeah and the manufacturer for sure. Investment driven mainstream pozers with an extremely agressive/destructive strategy.

This thread was bump-ed by me. You answered the OP who opened the thread round about five years ago :D
It's available for 9 bucks and I considered to buy it. After demoing it I rather think "nahhhh"

I love it, when playing with it I don’t care about this thread... When I don’t play with it neither...

What's wrong with them? Both working great here. But I agree: somehow I liked Trash 1 more. But that's maybe due to the great presets that are available there.

I should spend more time with it. At first glance, it seemed a tad complicated.

Yeah. i much prefer Trash 1 as well. it sounds like they changed the interpolation or something for the points of the waveshaper. possibly because it is less precise, it breaks up far nicer on basses and stuff, whereas Trash 2 is a bit more fiddly with getting it to breakup, and tends to just clip in a more predictable fashion. also prefer the dynamics section in Trash 1 for sound design at least. it has this really unique glitch on the gate when you set the attack between two different settings with fine control. needs oversampling though otherwise a bunch of chirping dominates the high end. would of been nice if they just kept the original dynamics algos in there as an option rather than replace them with the ones from Alloy, which are kind of dull and cookie cutter in comparison

I've just now realized that I can get the installers for Trash 1 and Spectron from the iZotope site, but I'm not sure I can authorize them without trying to resurrect old dead computers to try to find serial numbers. I only have very old information stored with regcodes, not serials.

Oh well.

first off, nobody takes izotope seriously. you are forcing people to install pace for 9$ plug-ins. (looks side eye at you 😒).

but seriously, i have KILLER distortion units. trash is not one of them. there are KILLER distortion units out there rn.

Since when does iZotope use Pace?
"Nobody take iZotope seriously?"
Are you kidding? RX is brilliant!
I agree it's long overdue for a GUI update however Trash is great and extremely versatile if you know how to use it.

iZotope gives you the option of using PACE ilock or their own NON-PACE system. Their NON-PACE system works fine for me.
