Well, I guess it's time to start posting my next project.
Back in the 90s, I did an album called "Girls" where each song had something to do with either a girls name or a group of girls or something to do with girls.
I decided to do a more strict sequel where every song would be a girl's name. The names were chosen randomly, which is why some of them are a little more unusual than others.
Anyway, thanks to all those who commented on my last project.
1st track from my upcoming CD "Girls II"
Lyrics:
Racing For Beverly
She really gets my motor running
She gets me all worked up
And when I'm with my girl
I just can't get enough
So I set my sights on the finish line
I only hope I get there in time
I'm racing for Beverly
My engine goes vroom, vroom, vroom
I'm racing for Beverly
I'm gonna race her to the moon
We'll get there for the final race
Then I'll take her back to her place
I go that extra mile just to see her face
I'm racing for Beverly
She always was my girl for speed
Ain't nothing gonna slow me down
She's there for all my needs
Gonna take her on the town
Cause I'm setting my sights on the finish line
I only hope I get there in time
Repeat Chorus
Faster faster
Don't run past her
Keep on going
Until her love's showing
Repeat Chorus

CD "Jerry And Company"
Yeah, got there...all 17 lstened to!
Is it perfect ...nope!
Does it need a bit of refinement here and there...yep!
BUT...that's exactly what you'd expect, whoever had put it together!
IT WORKS both as a cohesive story and a set of songs with a sense of continuity.
Very strongest point for me: Melodic content - short, sharp phrases with plenty of space in them...not too cluttered!
A seriously impressive achievement!

Thanks. I put it together. I even wrote a script for the play. It was quite a bit of work and something I've always wanted to do. Broadway is still my first love.ChameleonMusic wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 11:44 pm CD "Jerry And Company"

2nd track from my upcoming CD "Girls II"
Lyrics:
Inga
Inga
You little Swedish gal
Blonde hair, blue eyes
Can't stop staring at your thighs
Inga, won't you be my pal
Inga
You make my heart go thump
When I'm near you
Part of me just fears you
Inga, I feel like a chump
But if you would just look my way
I'd be happy everyday
Instrumental Break
Repeat B Section
Inga
Maybe someday you'll see
Past my dorky face
And come over to my place
Inga, won't be with me
Cause if you would just look my way
I'd be happy everyday
Inga
Oh my Inga
You're a Swedish delight
I'd love you every night
So why don't you just turn out the light
Oh Inga
Say you will be mine

3rd track from my upcoming CD "Girls II"
Lyrics:
Uriah
Uriah...Uriah
Faster than light ablaze in the sky
Fighting for right and willing to die
All of her might she never will lie
Uriah...Uriah
Villains they fear her magnetic mind
When she is near their thoughts she will bind
Innocent dear she's never unkind
Uriah...Uriah
Uriah, Uriah
Crusader for the meek
Uriah, Uriah
Defender of the weak
Destiny calls and she's always there
Villainy falls because she's aware
The justice halls are her private lair
Uriah...Uriah
Repeat Chorus
Instrumental Break
Repeat Chorus

Very good! The only objection, you know meh, bit of a weird distortion going on. Especially in the beginning. From my tab speakers. But that's futile. One of your older tracks?

Oh, before I forget, if people laugh about your productions, ask them to deliver some vocals themselves.

As I don't know what track you're referring to I can't comment on how old it is. A little more info would help.excuse me please wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 3:22 pm Very good! Uriah. Otherwise, I would make a reference in my comment; if I were not commenting on the track before my comment (usually your last posted track, that is).wagtunes wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 3:40 pmAs I don't know what track you're referring to I can't comment on how old it is. Ah, okay. Uriah was completed on 11/26/20, so relatively recent.excuse me please wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 3:47 pmUriah. Many times I will crank up the saturation on the tape emulation on the 2 buss or certain instruments purposely because I'm going for a desired sound. I get that it's not everybody's cup of tea but in this case it was a production choice and not me screwing things up. I don't do the drive thing too often but when I do I like that somewhat distorted sound, especially on vocals sometimes.

4th track from my upcoming CD "Girls II"
Lyrics:
Molly Malone Of Monte Carlo
Molly grew up in Dublin
But she didn't like it there
So she went to Monte Carlo
To breathe the clean French air
Molly she might be Irish
But she was living in a fog
So she went to Monte Carlo
To become a bloody frog
Molly Malone of Monte Carlo
Living the life of royalty
Molly Malone of Monte Carlo
Living a life that's free
Molly she saw the wars there
The British they beat her down
So she went to Monte Carlo
To get on out of town
Repeat Chorus
If everybody followed Molly
Left Dublin in the dust
Ireland would be a ghost town
When the economy went bust
Molly she lives the good life
Things they no longer seem black
Yeah she went to Monte Carlo
And she's never going back
Repeat Chorus
Outro

let's run away.
reminds me of a lot of love songs from the late disco period.
sharks
could have worked on jerry and co
style blind
dedicated follower of unfashion.
my problem too
star wanderer
bit of bowie feeling here. probably one of the best things ive heard you do!
stay away
elo, an influence that you wear well!
reach for the sky
not sure about this one, sounds a bit less modern, think it's that piano? the rythym of it.
im gonna rock tonight
bit cheesy for rock, but somehow works.
dana
carpenters esque love tune. always good
loving those blues away
this is rocky! some nice tricks in there, little sounds you hardly use, the click/claps. the fact they are rare makes them pop!
werewoman
aren't they all a bit "were"
one last kiss before i go.
this could be a sit com theme, cheers and such
shadow in the night
another tv sounding piece. reminds me of older american shows we'd get here.

Wow, thanks for the rundown. Short, concise and to the point. Yes, Star Wanderer is a gem and will be an upcoming single once the band I'm signed with gets around to doing it.vurt wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 5:51 pm restoration
