The 138E looks quite handy. In my rather small system I'm wary of large modules that don't have any CV inputs. But in a biggerr case I expect this provides a good performance interface for all those other CV inputs

(*) Anyone have a clue what the spade connector and cable specs are that Doepfer use, cant find a reference to it anywhere?
Can't say I know. I think the Doepfer e-mail list is still active. I still see messages from time to time.
Like desoldering the existing headers and replacing them? Or just smooshing a shroud onto the existing header? Both approaches seem fraught. Might be easier to make your own bus boards out of veroboard. I would do basically anything to avoid desoldering that many headers.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Feb 15, 2021 3:34 pm Also, anyone tried retrofitting proper keyed box headers onto a pre-v6 Doepfer busboard?

ok so I have to know why you bought that?
It’s fun cool tech, but I thought only buskers would get those and I don’t imagine there’s a lot of busking going on now. Is it actually a quality guitar because it’s starting to get into low end Martin and Taylor prices?

Yup -Lagg are quality guitars, mine is red cedar and (Khaya) Mahogany has a nice tone and I love the slim necks (as I spend more time on electrics). It was worth the £800 to me, I have a Big Baby (was about £500 from memory) and its a much better guitar (without the electronics) that the Taylor to my ears and hands. I also have a Martin, but that's a 12 string so hard to compare the sound, but the Lagg quality is definitely up there with mid range Taylors and Martins.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:54 pmok so I have to know why you bought that?

Why do I need/want an acoustic guitar that has built in reverb? It just sounds better than any other acoustic I have ever played 'in a room' with out miking up and fx - I keep it in my bedroom not my studio (pretty enough that the wife lets me
My wife and kids both commented that I sounded 'better' and even 'good' when I started playing the Lagg- they never said that before and I have quite a few quality guitars, it is definitely the reverb!

Nice, in about ten years when we're allowed in guitar shops again and if any are still in business I'll maybe try one out!
I kind of cheat with my Martin as it has a built in piezo system so I hardly ever play it without headphones on and me monitoring via compression, reverb etc so it always sounds mint.

Hyrdasynth will have to wait a bit more.
I just ordered the 1010music Bluebox
I also just ordered a pair of empty wooden cigar boxes. I'm going to convert one of them into a 2 pedal, pedalboard and keep the power supply under the lid after some necessary drilling/modifications. Even if I had found something, I don't think I would have liked the price just to keep 2 pedals accessible.
If I get it right the first time, the 2nd box might just fit either the Bluebox or Blackbox.

pulled the trigger on a Linnstrument 200 (2nd hand described as being in mint condition)
I’ll see how that goes, my seaboard blocks setup might be heading to Reverb. I kinda have a love/hate thing with it.

Nice collection... I have forgotten about the Osmose. It is only when someone (like you just did) mentions it that I even remember I have it on pre-order.SLiC wrote: Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:50 pm OK- My list of new purchases 'so far' for 2021 (This is cathartic) more than I would normally buy but its still lock down in the UK!

I expect to be selling more stuff this year than buying.
I have 2 Elektron Rytms. One is MKI and one MKII. I may sell the MKI and get a second MKII (black or grey???)

It’s easy to forget about the Osmose as I think Expresive E have sent 1 email update (saying no real news) since November...I must admit I did consider getting my deposit pack after getting the Hydrasynth as it is so expresive, but it was only 250 euro, so I have let it roll....pdxindy wrote: Sat Feb 20, 2021 3:31 amNice collection... I haven't considered a refund for the Osmose. I figure if too many people do that, they may not have money to complete it.SLiC wrote: Sat Feb 20, 2021 7:38 amIt’s easy to forget about the Osmose as I think Expresive E have sent 1 email update (saying no real news) since November...I must admit I did consider getting my deposit pack after getting the Hydrasynth as it is so expresive, but it was only 250 euro, so I have let it roll....pdxindy wrote: Sat Feb 20, 2021 3:31 amNice collection... Have you used the Hydrasynth as a midi controller for softsynths, other synths?

Briefly with Live 11 when it first arrived, works as expected (I tried it Plasmonic) but to be honest I keep all my hardware synths in a different part of my studio where I try hard not to use a computerpdxindy wrote: Sat Feb 20, 2021 2:23 pm Have you used the Hydrasynth as a midi controller for softsynths, other synths?

I use my hydrasynth with midi to control soft synths all the time. You can set local off so what you play on the keyboard isn't diverted to the hydrasynth sound engine automatically and then you can even have the hydrasynth engine playing back your midi from the DAW/elsewhere while you use the hydrasynth keyboard to play soft synths. I know other synths can do that, but worth pointing out if it wasn't obvious that you don't have to lose the internal engine if you use the keyboard for other stuff.
I have briefly used it in MPE mode, but as you can get the benefits of Poly AT and the ribbon in PolyAT mode I usually use that so I don't send 16 channels of stuff at once. I have used it in that mode to control the Arturia CS80 plugin and that activates the ribbon and uses the Poly AT features.
