I have strange spikes once every 20 or 30 mins (random)! I have nVidia card so not sure if this is the reason. I absolutely have no such problem with S1 and Live, so it must be related to Cubase!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Frankly, you'd be better off with Studio One anyway as a companion to Bitwig :)

Ok I guess I lied about the last post thing - I'm just curious why you think Studio One (a DAW I have zero experience with) would be a good companion to Bitwig, because that's all I really wanted, something to compliment Bitwig. I had no desire to return to Steinberg. Which is why I went with Bitwig over Cubase a year ago. Too many bad experiences with their software.

Because it's:
- great for editing audio
- got audio & midi comping
- got retrospective recording
- got chord track & harmonic editing
- got proper mixer and dedicated mastering features

I vent from Reaper to Cubase, but still using Reaper. Cubase is gonna be my main daw from now on.
Not using Cubase 11 yet still on 10.5, have noticed some Bugs, but nothing big issues.

+ a million for StudioOne ...... FORMER STEINBERG EMPLOYEES made STUDIOONE ! Just like Former ABLETON LIVE EMPLOYEES made BITWIG seems right up your alley . Maybe get a subscription to Presonus Sphere and give it a whirl , and buy it used on the KVR Marketplace the sell your used Cubase11 license and dongle .

I have not had an eLicenser go bad before but I have had an iLok do it. It's inconvenient but not the end of the world. I just replaced the iLok and was back in action.

As far as Cubase goes, I like Cubase. I've migrated from Cubase to other DAWs over the years only to come back to Cubase every time. Most recently Studio One which I was already pretty familiar with. Studio One is that DAW I really want to like but just either can't get into or end up finding bugs that will probably not get fixed. The last one I found was a drum midi track I recorded from my electronic drums. The project sounded fine in real time play back but the mix down would mess up the open and close hi hat. Freeze the instrument would give different results but still mess up the open and close. Bouncing the one section in place ended up working. The bug doesn't make any sense. I ended up leaving S1 due to a couple other things on top of it.

All DAWs have their bugs. At the end of the day though, it's what ever application lets you get things done in an effective manner. So if you actually like or liked using Cubase you should maybe just get support to help you out or grab a new eLicenser. These are all just tools to help you get music recorded, no more, no less. If you are sour to Steinberg to what happened and are holding it against them and that is what is preventing you from buying a new eLicenser then so be it.

Also most software once registered is non refundable so I'm not sure what the buyer beware thing is about. I mean, this really isn't new information.

Well, it seems that I got it solved, well first test said that :) I did two changes at the same time, so I don't know which one did it! The first is changing the project bit depth from 64 to 32. The second is setting Asio Guard to low.

So far, I have no issues :)

These 2 former employees left Steinberg in the 90's and had nothing to do with modern Cubase. They went on to make a daw called Kristal, which failed. Even other companies weren't interested.
Eventually a US budget brand called Presonus bought their dying company. Presonus then rebranded the already 5 year old Kristal daw to Studio One (look at the logo of both daw's) and released it as being a new daw.
One of the guys left them soon after and has nothing to do with S1 anymore, he now works for EastWest. The other is chief of S1 nowadays.
The loudness war is over, loudness has won

Post

Nowadays' Studio One doesn't have anything to do with the original Kristal anymore though.

Apart from that, Wolfgang Kundrus, the guy you talk about, was with Steinberg until 2003: https://de.linkedin.com/in/wkundrus

Not sure why you need to spread so much misinformation here.
