NB: Open Anyway
That does the exact same thing, but with a lot more work.

same dialog as...
but the actual point of posting that was Open Anyway, as well as something Markus Krause maybe needs to see, ie., to elucidate the issue [unidentified developer]

Right-click on the App and then 'Open' did work in most cases.
However there still seems to be something broken with Apple's Certificates on the Silicon.
One other devs told me that Apple had switched from SHA1 to SHA256 and this causes problems. I still have not investigated on this in detail, since our stuff works

Thank you for all this info, would you say those 8GB of RAM are enough for music production, or do you run out of RAM when making complex projects?

Booting time is 25 seconds till the login-screen. Another 7 seconds to desktop.
Shutdown time is 5 seconds
That is terribly slow  - still the old Unix habit of booting forever, it seems...

The CPU is faster than my Intel I3, but slower than my Ryzen 3800. For audio processing I'd say it is comparable to a strong Intel I7, which has 4 cores (+4 virtual ones for hyperthreading).
Which Ryzen do you have and how did you obtain these findings?

Edit: nevermind, I just found out that there's no U version of the 3800 and there is barely any difference between the X and the XT - both are 105W desktop CPUs though, so it is pretty much pointless to compare them to the M1.

Seems like a lot has changed since October. I have an M1 MacBook for about a month and haven't experienced any of this problems at all. Neither Xcode (beta) nor anything else mentioned here. 😁

Boot time is less than 15 secs on my (wife's) mini. Logic performs better than my 4ghz 32 gb RAM i7 iMac. .5 ms @64 samples has been shaved off the rt latency on my RME FF802.

Yea, our M1 Air boots way quicker, maybe OP was having bad luck with his Mac

Regarding Reaper: They have an M1 version in beta that is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it, it runs much smoother on my M1 Air in my experience, although I was able to get the x64 version running, just not well.

I'll stick to intel Macs for now since I don't like things to get messed up. But from what I heard Apple plans to go away from Intel chips completely in favor of their own silicon chips.

It's sort of a pity since you won't be able anymore to run Windows on a Mac. I prefer Windows for some stuff and it was very handy to be able to boot into Windows on the same machine.

Been spending the last few days getting 3rd party stuff working. All of it, afaik, is still Intel, but nothing more than the occasional headache for the installations. I figured if something will push the CPU/RAM it will be some 3rd party stuff. I don't generally use more than 24 trx, so....
So far, quite impressed.
