Who are some of your favorite minimalists in pop music (producers/singer-songwriters/instrumentalists etc?), regardless of genre?

Two that come to mind immediately are The Knife and The Kills. Two "The" bands, heh.

Laurie Anderson's Big Science is a great example of strikingly effective minimalism.

The Pixies, especially on their first two albums.
