I’m already a GForce customer and a Mac user and imo the decision to release OB-E as Mac only makes absolutely no sense!
They are probably shutting out about 60% of their potential user base, very very strange.
@ED
Even if they don’t have a in-house Windows developer couldn’t they contract that out? I would think the additional revenue would more than pay for the hiring of a Windows based developer even if it was just one shot for OB-E.

PC users have been watching Mac users bitch and whine for two decades when a plugin is PC only.zvenx wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 1:58 pm I can't pretend it isn't enjoyable to watch the PC people bitch when things come only on PC and they go on and on and on, or complain about why don't some developers just drop mac support.
It's nice we Windows users get a chance to bitch and whine too for a change.

That's the thing. They ALWAYS contract out development. But this developer was apparently clueless about Windows, or at least JUCE.kgdrum wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:21 pm@ED

Gforce isnt even a big company right? Whoever thought it was a good idea to only release on Mac made a bad call. Like, why would you want to literally slash your sales?

Couldn't give a f**k when there's no Mac version of stuff, I just buy other stuff (shrug, wink).
For the full reverse-PC effect we need Dave S's dev to come on here now, get all thin-skinned and claim he's no magician (thumbs up, wanker-smile).
FTR, I think it's odd too that there's no Doze version. At least it removes some of the 5-year old heat from Camel Audio (clap, eye-roll)

This. Can't believe that didn't cross their mind.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:15 pm It does seem like a disaster of a launch if I'm being honest. For a single platform product, the pricing seems way off. Also, there was no notice this would be Mac only. Would've been great information to include in the "we're close to a new product" emails. Just add a "...it will be Mac only for now because..." sentence. Regardless of how they got to a Mac only release, this could've been handled much better is all I'm saying.
And this, basically.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 1:24 pm Six months of speculation , bikkering etc..and no pc version ???

I feel a bit bad. A lot of lessons being hashed out in a very public way. Thank God my mistakes at work don't garner this much interest!EvilDragon wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:16 pmThey worked with a very young developer called Hugo, who seems to be a Mac die-hard and apparently not well versed in cross-platform things. See that other video they just released "This is how we work".Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:15 pm I think they know very well there's interest in a PC version, just for whatever reason, decisions were made early on that took them down a path that brought them to a Mac only release.

HUGE fail on David's part, imo. And because someone named Hugo doesn't like PCs.
Whatever.
I'm too deeply into this to be changing platforms right now. Sorry Hugo.
As someone said, check your customer database and sales stats to determine whether there is interest in a PC version. Or what about those user surveys where you ask which platform we use? It could be that perhaps there really is not as much "interest" as in a Mac version. If that is the case, then I can live with that.

But all kidding aside.
What a bizarre move really.
Especially when their other products are both Mac and Windows? (well I know imposcar 2 is).
It sounds good, but lots of it feels a bit alpha-ish.. with the GUI and of course their whole GUI/cc/preset browsing/gui resizing needs rethinking. Some parameters you need to right click to see the range of values, some are scroll up and down, some are....
Factory bank comes tagged but no way to favourite stuff?
It wasn't cute with imposcar and certainly not cute now..
Then to my ears the dry sound, sounds like it has some kind of reverb/fx in it. weird..
Plus no one master volume?
Not to mention the intro price ends March 9th and the coupon some of us got March 31st....when the PC version is up in limbo.
really weird.
Plus Gforce has a rep for not really upgrading/improving their instruments.
(but I may still buy it.. GAS and it really sounds good and I am getting my head around its workflow (unusual as it is).

I know what you mean in a way and so nobody should go over the top ranting and raving. But in another way if you don't talk to your clients and then just spring this on them after two years you're bound to get reactions like they're getting today... That does actually happen all the time...Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:29 pm I feel a bit bad. A lot of lessons being hashed out in a very public way. "There is no chance of a PC release before the coupon runs out, but I think that a rerun of the £30 coupon offer would only be fair when (and if) the PC version gets released. Your comments have been noted and taken very seriously."

Ofc, not really a definitive statement, just his opinion.
