they are doing this weird triple mixer, dual filter set up where you got a pre balance, then a post balance, and you can also mix the two filters together, no matter what mode it's in. it makes me want to pull my eyebrows out, and it's becoming more common.

oh, and let's not forget they have added a THIRD filter in the filter effects, because the effects section wasn't enough.

except i have totally lost track what the signal
is actually doing. it's a "well, let's do this and see what it does" kind of thing. that is NOT HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK! it's a mess.

also, if you going to hardwire envelopes to filter cutoffs, or to the amp or something, for the love of God label it. don't make me guess.

others have made the same complaint, so. i would not say that this site is representative of everyone. there may be some truth to some of the issues being windows related tho. the new gui doesn't do as well as the old guis, and it seems to have something to do with windows scaling. the sample oscillator is a herky jerky mess, that does what it wants, but at least it will play a sample. that's about as far as it goes for me. reaper needs a computer scientist to adapt to the high pixel counts apparently. the dune filter set up works, but only in a very specific, and non traditional method that i'm sure was done for cpu conservation, but makes me rework everything instead of making the preset designers rework everything. rrrrrrrr.......

i'm used to waldorfs and viruses and crap. these things are working differently.

there should be a filter pan in the oscillator section. serial is serial, and parallel is parallel, there is no "all of the above". i don't even know how that is supposed to exists.

this isn't a waldorf.
it's not for me from what i hear, but i don't expect rich to design his synth for me, if he had a vision, sadly it just isn't your vision.
doesn't make the synth bad, just means you want something else.

(im discussing the filter, the other bits sound more like bugs which i imagine will be fixed if reported properly (not here, at dave and tek, use the relevant forum)

he stated that it is being guided by what "the community" wanted. you can guess who that boils down to, and yes, i will hold on to it until it makes me stand up and throw my computer out a window, because i need a high quality piece like dune 3 to be a reliable and stable instrument. same with arcsyn, which can take the place of my waldorf. if it would just work like it is supposed to! lol, who wants to fiddle about and guess what it's doing? that is not how i work, i know what i want to do, and guessing is not it. i like the thorn set up a lot, and it does all the same stuff, but the sound quality is higher with arcsyn and dune.

this comes down to some people like the clutter, they like the mess, my wife is like that, one of those engineer types that always has everything thrown about, that is not me. i like everything in its right place. clutter kills me. lol
