Hi, I’m working on a project and the budget is limited. I need realistic drum sounds and I’ve been scourging the net for free samples. I’ve found some pretty good snares, kicks, and toms, but hi-hats are a bit underwhelming.
I bought the Drum Werks hi-hat collection which was a big mistake. The naming of the samples make absolutely no sense in terms of velocity, there’s a dude’s voice in the background in some samples, etc...
Any recommendations? I like to play my drum parts with my keyboard, btw.

Avoid The Hat With The Phat, it's a 20-inch hi-hat, heh. You don't need that. SM Drums is probably the best option, that includes WAV files. I also did include a hi-hat in Gogodze Phu Vol II though the rest of the cymbals are missing and overhead positions are Glyn Johns so it might not blend too well with other kits and there's no close mic. But, well, for free...

Have you tried SSD5.5 free? Comes with 3 free kits these days;
https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2020/0 ... -free-5-5/
Oriented towards the more, err, 'rockin' side of things, but very good quality in depth samples and a lot of articulations.

I have SM Drums, but I don't like the hi-hat, I think it's too... "tippy"?

That looks cool. Can I use the wav files in another sampler? Are they labeled properly?Etienne1973 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 5:28 pm Loops De La Crème HiHat Essentials (Multisamples) for €29

Ah...this is quite a nice free kit, if you haven't seen it (used to be on the Analogue Drums site when it was up);Danilo Villanova wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 7:03 pmDoesn't work in Linux (yeah, I know...)donkey tugger wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 5:37 pm Have you tried SSD5.5 free?
