Hey all,
Wondering which DAWs support migration from VST2 to VST3, meaning if I have a bunch of old projects containing a VST2 version of a plugin, and attempt opening them in the same DAW with the VST3 version of the plugin, the plugin will correctly recall the chunk with all settings?
I know Cubase and Reaper allow it, wondering if people can be so kind as to comment on their experience or knowledge on the DAWs they are using? Information online is spotty and hard to chase, thanks!
VST2 to VST3 chunk migration, which hosts support it?

It depends on how each plugin company makes the transition. If the developer takes care of maintaining the same VST ID used for the VST 2 version, the host usually detects the VST 3 as a direct replacement, so old songs load without issues. Unfortunately, not all developers are doing this right.

Yes but developers aside not all hosts do that either. Afaik and someone correct me if I am wrong for example FL and Ableton do not migrate
