Yeah I agree. They strike a nice balance between skeumorphism and flat, but still are friendly to use. (And yes they look really nice as well.)DeathByGuitar wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 12:22 am This is random, but there's something about the UI designs in AudioThing plugins that really move me. Probably a mix of the colors that are used (especially in things like Speaker,Valves and Springs) and the nice halfway point between uber sqeuomorphism like Softube and the polar opposite like Valhalla DSP. It's weird but they look like they're pretty much tailor made to stimulate me emotionally. I'm weird, though.![]()
Do you guys design your UIs in house or do you farm them out? Would love to figure out how you decide on what colors to use in your designs.

Thank you! We have been working with the same designer since 2013, and we actually spend quite a lot of time on the layout and design of each plugin.DeathByGuitar wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 12:22 am This is random, but there's something about the UI designs in AudioThing plugins that really move me. I've been pushing for flat/modern design a lot but he's still fond of realistic 3D, so the result is, I think, a good balance of the two worlds.
Happy New Year guys!

Reels is a must-have if you like lofi tape plugins. Especially for USD 25 (APD).

What does "APD" mean? How (or why) is (or was) it $25 for you? The price quoted to me is almost £25.
Edit: is it because i have to pay+ VAT?

Ignore this. (I was still looking at KVR
)
It says "DEAL EXPIRED Ended: February 18, 2021 Started: February 18, 2021" but it also says "APD is selling Reels, the tape emulation plugin by AudioThing, for $24.99 instead of $59 until March 3rd, 2021, at midnight eastern time."

Can you tell me please: does it do like Boards Of Canada in it's repertoire?
Is the noise a sample of noise? I don't know if £17.65 is expensive for a sample of noise? I do have some other (a few) samples of noise but they were sort of free.
