Why no foo fighters clones?

When the Beatles came out, there were tons of bands who tried to sound like them. In the 70s, you had plenty of Led Zeppelin wannabees. Rock radio in the 80s was ruled by Van Halen wannabees. The 90s had its fair share of bands that thought they were Nirvana. Even Garbage's first album spawned a few soundalikes.
So why is it that a band that has had every album get serious airplay over the last 25 years seems to have nobody trying to copy them? It's not like their formula is so damn hard to replicate. It's not like they have a once in a generation vocalist or the most technical musicians ever. They are a garage rock band that puts out a couple of good songs every once in a while. How is it the music industry has not flooded the airwaves with similar stuff?

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Well, yeah. The other bands you mention were all pretty ground breaking, had something new to offer whereas Dave and the boys are already a few generations down rocks family tree. Distilled 90s grunge with a feelgood frontman. Not that I have anything against them but... It's a bit like saying why didn't ELO spawn clones or something...

That's why "Grohl" is pronounced "Growl".
