Greetings!
This is my little electro-ambient sketch. All the sound are generated via the big button and than tweaked to taste. It was kinda interesting to create a track using purely random sounds. The instrument itself sounds pretty good for free VST, but unfortunately it has some strange issues with the engine itself. You can hear crackling noise on some sounds. Also, there is no way to make this plugin sound in mono without the external processing. Applying a stereo with control plugins does the job, but makes it sound a little phasy, like a subtle chorus.
After all, I think that "Rand" could be used to learn synthesis, and sometimes it generates very interesting sound effects, but while the sound issues are present and it's feature set is kinda rudimentary in some places (no attenuation for LFO's and envelopes for example) it feels more like a toy than a useful tool.
Composed, arranged, mixed and mastered in FL Studio 20
8 instances of "Rand" used to create a track.
Native Effects:

x1 Limiter

Good summary, @VCA-089. I can't really see myself using Rand in the future. It doesn't do anything particularly well, and the mono issue was a huge disadvantage in the mixing process, especially for this sort of challenge with lots of stacked instances. A randomiser is always interesting for generating some surprising effects, but I already have my favourites for that (Absynth, Loom, primarily) - and Rand, sadly, did nothing to make me reconsider.

An ambient exercise this time. I set a rule for myself this month that all sounds created by using the 'random' button and no tweaking or editing the patches.
20 instances of Rand
Ableton Live Suite 10
EQ8, Compressor, Limiter, Valhalla Super Massive.

Though one could edit hidden parameters, I thought that Rand isn't very inspiring...
Finally I had an idea what to do with this synth:
I had to hack a mouse!
I wanted to change sounds arbitrarely while improvising with an arpeggiator and some delays. But unfortunately the Push button could not be automated, and also the sound changes after a push of the button would not be notified to the host.
My solution, I hacked a mouse to use it as foot pedal. Therefore I had to simply cover the laser led to prevent the mouse from moving the cursor, place the cursor above the button and then just click the mouse button with my toe...
I made a video of it, but I need to edit it first before I can link to it...
That's my entry:
One instance of Rand, 66 different sounds (counted with a Max patch in the background)
Bitwigs arpeggiator, delay 4 and reverb.
One take, just normalized, no edits...

How do you guys get your tracks to sound so loud on SoundCloud? I’m really baffled by how this platform handles loudness. I’ve tried all of the tips and tricks for mastering for SoundCloud or streaming in general but I feel like the better I get my master to sound in my DAW or in iTunes or whatever, the quieter it is on SoundCloud.
And it’s not that I want some super loud, squashed track but I’d really like it not to sound way quieter than the tracks that come before and after it.

I always check my tracks with this page:
https://www.loudnesspenalty.com/
It runs a script in the browser and tells you how much your track will be turned down by streaming services. Soundcloud is not listed, but I always aim for YouTube/Spotify, as they have the same loudness limit, but Spotify is turning tracks up unlike YouTube. So you get a hint how hard to limit your track.

Good idea. I’ve used that before for Spotify because as you say SoundCloud isn’t listed. As I understand it Soundcloud did not used to have any loudness compensation at all but though I haven’t seen anything written about it, I believe they must have recently implemented it without specifying the details. I could be wrong but this “turning down” of my tracks I am experiencing seems to be a new phenomenon. Also they recently launched a LANDR style AI mastering service so I assume that change had something to do with it.SeBaer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 7:14 pm I always check my tracks with this page:

A strange beastie, this Rand, and a strange month all round. This was my second attempt, not sure if it was any better than my first but it is at least more or less done.

Just tried it & my track would need to be turned up, quite a bit
Upto +5 in some instances
So, when listening please increase your ear bleed level to +5
