Oh ok! Well, in addition to it to be an emulation of a vintage beast, there are the additions that the dev have made. For the original, I already gave an example about the cross mod. There is a switch in VCO2 that make it low frequency oscillator to cross mod VCO1.ghostwhistler wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 1:09 pmYes, thiszvenx wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 12:33 pm I assume ghostwhistler meant examples of stuff that can't be worked out without reading the manual.

For the additions, take the panels for example. You need to understand how they work in dual and split modes. The split mode at which key? Also what affects each panel, and what is Global.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I just checked, and you did a very good job. Well done.waltercruz wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 5:21 pm Hey, I don't know if you have seen, but some pages ago I uploaded a bank of all the factory patches, and I think that I did very well with the Neg Sync preset!
One thing you may have noticed is how incredibly sensitive that sound is to the PWM setting. Did you try to match the Synthmania example recordings? Just that I noticed yours contains the brighter / higher pitched harmonic element of Synthmania's example recording, where Arturia's preset sounds slightly dull in comparison to his Jupiter 8.
BTW When you raise the Arturia V4's PWM to match, it seems to "thin out" more easily, so advantage TAL there, in terms of copying that particular Jupiter 8
Even with Arturia's settings and the patch sheets taking away most of the guess work, that'd still have taken you a good while to do all of those, so kudos to you there.

It fairs significantly better than some people think. But it does its own thing, in terms of parameter scaling etc. That means it won't really sound like any particular synth (other than Divaghostwhistler wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 6:24 pm I have Diva as well, although, while nice, I don't think it sounds terribly authentic. Assuming that was the point.
The delay is simple, but I like the sound of it. The Arturia FX are perfectly functional and sound fine. Just I wouldn't go as far as to say I "like" any of them. As you say, YMMV.As fx, I'm not sure I agree. Unless I've missed something, The TAL model only has the chorus (which is lovely to be sure), and the delay, which is ok. The Arturia emulation has much more, ymmv as to the quality, and they can be somewhat modulated as well.
The general presets, yes. We were referencing the ones tagged "Factory Original". IE Included on the hardware, not the Arturia "Factory" presets, which are different.don't a lot of those arturia patches make use of the features unique to their version?

I dont tried to match the Synthmania recordings, but used them as a source for comparison and checking. And I used this video from TheSynthFreq too:PAK wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 8:15 pm One thing you may have noticed is how incredibly sensitive that sound is to the PWM setting. Square + PWM is one of the parts where Arturia and TAL really differ. To match these parts I mostly compared the synths with Melda MMultiAnalyzer and matched the soundPAK wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 8:15 pm BTW When you raise the Arturia V4's PWM to match, it seems to "thin out" more easily, so advantage TAL there, in terms of copying that particular Jupiter 8(Arturia's PWM setting, based on Walter's preset, is around the equivalent of 5.8ish on TAL, with a lower res value around 5.5, for anyone who doesn't have V4)
Yep, and a lot of boring working. But now that TAL has the original Jupiter-8 Factory Patches I feel that it's really 'finished'PAK wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 8:15 pm Even with Arturia's settings and the patch sheets taking away most of the guess work, that'd still have taken you a good while to do all of those, so kudos to you there.![]()

Such as?EnGee wrote: Sun Feb 28, 2021 9:52 am Just finished the manual. It took about one hour. I must say it is crucial to read the manual because some things can't be worked out with guessing.
The only area that strikes me as 'non-obvious' is the "calibration" panel. I had to look that up on a day one, as it wasn't clear at all what effect the knobs were having.
I suppose some folks might be unaware of the 'SC' panel without reading the manual, too.
Amazing synth, using it daily!

Great to have such advanced users then! It seems KVR is filled with synth gurus.
Apologies if I hurt your pride! I'm just a beginner keeps reading the manuals (that nobody needs here!).

Christ, over-sensitive much? I literally was asking "such as?" because I was genuinely curious. But apparently the butt-hurt is real and you couldn't answer.EnGee wrote: Mon Mar 01, 2021 5:19 am Great to have such advanced users then! It seems KVR is filled with synth gurus.

After wearing out my refresh key.
Version 1.3.5
Arpeggiator fix. The arpeggiator is now the same like on a real Jupiter 8. It will sound different in most cases if you already used the arpeggiator in an existing track. We also decided to implement only the real behaviour without any switches (we maybe add other modes in the future).
Scaling issues on windows fixed.

I’m noticing the LFO, when applied to volume, is very clicky, but sounds great applied to the filter. Anyone else observing the same?

Yep, I've noticed that too - was assuming that's how the hardware behaves..andrewbrewer wrote: Mon Mar 01, 2021 4:23 pm I’m noticing the LFO, when applied to volume, is very clicky, but sounds great applied to the filter. Anyone else observing the same?

Haven't worked out how the ARPs sound different yet but still sounds great and all these updates are much appreciated
I can't get the Latching to work after the update though ?
Set to Dual and have an ARP lower and upper - latch doesn't work properly
Works fine if use the sustain pedal instead of Latch button though (which should so the same thing ?)
When using the latch buttons and have both pressed only one ARP seems to be running

This comes up regularly, but if you think there may be a bug: be it the LFO's clicking or latching, your best best is to email Patrick directly. He's crazy responsive.
