I am with dermage here, breaking behaviour in a synth 3 months after release, when people may have had projects which their client approved is not a good idea.
Glad he will add it option to let it be what it was.
Someone mentioned an issue with latch (which I couldn't repro but I found other issues with latch (in Cubase, releasing Hold/Latch causes the last note to stick, and in latch/hold mode if I change the notes I play the arp didn't respond accordingly - he is on these) hopefully they have mentioned their issue to him to so he can fix it one time.

Wow.. Already?
damn
rsp
Seems he included all the options.
Arp J8 behaves like the Jupiter 8,
Arp J8 Mod behaves like the Jupiter 8 except at the high octaves it also goes above the physical keyboard if you choose 3 or 4 octaves (ED and my vote), and Arp MOD is the original behaviour of J-8 for the last few months.
Got to give to Patrick!!

And now I also owe an apology to Arashi. You were right all along, and I give you a unnecessary rough time about it. I am glad you brought it to our attention (several times
) and ultimately Patrick's attention.
Making J-8 even better than before.
Have you tried it now?

I still haven't bought it and I'm on the fence...
On one hand, when I'm trying it I can hear it does sound nice, full, warm and "analog" but at the same time nothing special and - compared to all the modern VSTs - it is pretty limited and constrained. Then I'd load Tal-U-No-Lx, which always sounded great, but now suddenly - in comparison - sounds pretty bland, flat and lifeless. What the heck?!
Another advantage is I'd be supporting a small independent dev, who's super responsive to fixing bugs, open to feature requests and ALSO releases his stuff for Linux and Apple Silicon, so that has to be worth something too, right?
Should I get it (despite the discount not being available anymore)?

No, you shouldn't if it isn't special to you. To me it happened the somewhat opposite: I find in J-8 an U-No-LX a sound I can't get in any other VST synthesizer.antic604 wrote: Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:45 pm Should I get it (despite the discount not being available anymore)?![]()

For me it's the other way around: I find U-NO-LX so much cool, that I'll try to treat it like a hardware, spending time with it and getting J-8 only after making something useful with U-NO-LX. The "useful" part is about me, not about the synth
So I've put J-8 on hold for a while.

A great Jupiter 8 Emulation and a great price. I have the Arturia one and don't feel the need for another, but its obviously another great option for people who are in to the old Roland stuff.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
