I'll be getting my copy of Logic Pro 7 soon...a few questions....

When I installing something like Native Instruments' Komplete2...will I be given a choice between VST or AU? Or will it detects that I have Logic and install the approperate plug-ins?

Is AU superior to VST?

Just wondering...got a MAC...so I got Logic Pro 7...which supports AU. Had a PC...which runs Cubase SX...which supports VST.

Yes, you will have a choice when installing komplete 2. Just choose a custom install.

Dont know if AU is superior to vst, but they tend to behave in logic better since you have to use the vst converter if you want to use cst's in logic.

In terms of the end user (us), neither has an advantage. Ther differences are pretty much transparent to us. They become apparent when one tries to create his own plugin. From what I understand, each format has its advantages from a development stance.

logic 7 makes uses of appleloops and garageband instruments, and yes you most certainly can apply effects like reverbs and filters. logic pro comes with space designer which is quite nice and a number of other useful emagic plugins.
