The first plugin I used was Waves Q10, C1, L1 for Sounddesigner II. VST technology appeared much later...

PSP vintage warmer was my first (2001), followed by the Waves Renaissance bundle.
I used cracked plugins back in the 90s but decided to buy once I started making money on music.
Vintage Warmer was a game changer and completely blew my mind at the time.

Hyperprism DX plugins (as in DirectX plugin, not even a VST).. this was way way way back in the day, when Waves was just a startup.
I still miss that Hyperprism reverb. It was absolutely phenomenal.. even to this day.
The user interfaces were gorgeous back then.

... this was my first one some years ago. I got it on a sale, explored its possibilities and can still recommend it. However, I went for a more complicated path (Melda, now Bitwig) and have sold it off.

I think it was PSP Nitro, when they had a sale at audio-midi dot com many years ago... before that, I used only freeware and magware (except for the daw, of course!).

Korg Legacy Collection. And I had to think about this for a while before I remembered it. Great question!
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Audio Damage Eos.
Mixed feelings but it taught me a lot about plug-ins. Sounded superb and I loved it but the dev released an update which reset every single AU instance in every single project I'd used it in, so took me a couple of weeks to replace them.
Dev's comment to me in an email was to avoid using AUs in future. I stopped using AD instead. Biggest takeaway is stick to stock DAW fx if you can.

.. or avoid updating plugins if they work fine. Of course it could be tempting if there are new features added.revvy wrote: Sun Mar 07, 2021 2:12 am Dev's comment to me in an email was to avoid using AUs in future. I stopped using AD instead. Biggest takeaway is stick to stock DAW fx if you can.

Wow, what a blast from the past. I'd forgotten all about TBL, but I used to love it many moons ago. Wonder how it holds up in 2021...Teksonik wrote: Fri Mar 05, 2021 5:06 pm TBL (The Base Line) from ReFx sometime in 2001 or 2002. Still works to this day although of course 32 bit only.
