Correct, TS2 eventually offered a Sampletank 4 SE license, so it was a version of ST4 that could use all of your ST3 Max content, but it was not ST4 Max.

FWIW I had a feeling this was coming, so I purposely didn't get the Hammond, AT5, satch amps, or upgrade to ST4 last year. $299 is a fair upgrade for what I got new out of this package IMO. Just Like NI's Komplete, you gotta pass on the initial offerings of individual instruments and wait for the bundle.

There is definitely value in MAX3 if you genuinely need everything that is included and (as you say) haven't bought the stuff you wanted along the way.

Its a strange sales model to me at least that discourages people from buying new products as they are launched!!!

Maybe you bought it recently and they had a promo for that. I bought it at launch and I have SampleTank 3 Max and later on SampleTank 4 CS

There are two things that IKM does that would make me really angry if I owned shares in the company. This is one of them. While the crossgrades are good deals for someone who has only bought one product previously, there are masses of customers who have bought many, and they are not rewarded for their loyalty. This is costing IKM revenue, almost for certain.

The other thing that's costing IKM revenue is the insistence of downloading everything in a bundle, like TRacks, even if only a few plug-ins are licensed. I know for a fact that this keeps some people from buying anything in TRacks. Maybe the new download manager has addressed this ... but somehow I doubt it. I'd love to be proven wrong since I do genuinely like most of IKM's software offerings.

Just worked it out....I bought an Irig Keys 25 that had the promo for ST Max....

That’s the problem with the TS3 MAXgrade coupon...it’s not bespoke enough....Have TS2 get TS3 for 299......have anything else like AT5 or tapes or ST4 Max and this means nothing....

For those with many purchased IK products, yes you should also see an auto-applied coupon but the maximum savings with the coupon will be $/€200
