For me, drum and tab notation is potentially useful and maybe some of the editing changes, but nothing really stand out. Here’s hoping they finally sort out MIDI FX for 5.3, not that I’m holding my breath on that.

Smarter arrow tool for PRV
Full-Screen Mode Windows
Sound Variations
Drum Notation
Guitar Tab Notation
Fixes for Multi-Output FX+Instrument presets

...all things I might get some good use out of. Two of them I FR'd myself in their forums and were at or near the top of the list for S1 enhancements. You gotta give them credit for looking at their top rated requests and implementing them.

When they say "full-screen" they really mean full screen. No frivolous extras like a menu bar.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

My favorite new feature is simply the clip versions.

How is it different from layers? Does it also work for MIDI clips?

I haven't used it, but from what I understand it's for audio clips, you can make duplicates and have separate changes for each clip of the same audio. It's basically a time saver, so you don't have to bounce down your individual clips with different changes (clip gain, etc.) on them.

I can't say I find this update of interested for me. The arpeggiator bug is still there. :(

For me as keyboard player the most interesting is Show Page, but i expect more work with layers. They always show only one instrument per track. But to play really thick and fullfiled patches i need layering and in Studio One it is quite poor for live playing. MultiInstrument is halfbaked and the reason of the most S1 crushes in my situation. Mainstage is still ahead, and Live and Bitwig is also easier to play layered instruments and to switch them easily.

It doesn't work on midi events. But on audio tracks it seems quite useful.

Funny mention just now as I'm writing I went to check something to share with you and changing clip gain on an empty project with one event just crashed S1. :dog:

Another release version that I might not be able to use... :(

Although they have all these nice options after crashing now.

More of a meh update, from an underwhelming 5.0 release.

Tough crowd...the sheer quantity of new stuff and improvements in 5, 5.1 and now 5.2 is amazing to me, sure, I wont need/use it all, but that is still al a lot of work and a hell of a lot of them were user requests!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I dig how they are leaning into live performance aspect and for both stage and recording. Can't please everyone but if I had a pain point with Studio One I definitely let the devs know and use their upvote system as well. I bought an M1 a month ago and was hoping for native Apple Silicon support hopefully Rosetta supports mean something with third party plugins. This is my first Mac by the way. Been producing on the PC for 30 years now.
