We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

I wonder if morsecode.world (etc.) suddenly wonders why its morse converter is getting loads of hits from a weird synth site

After translating these morse code messages I'm a bit disappointed because I expected something more controversial...

I am eager to try out another cherry audio vst that has osc sync capabilities but it seems ca2600 is the only one .

One of the other posters said Eight Voice. Either one would be interesting. If it's using Mark Barton's Oberfilter, then it's likely the Eight Voice, not the OB-8. We'll find out in nine days.

I wonder if a single module will find its way to VM.

That would be cool. Hopefully keeping the layout/aesthetic.

Speaking of cats, if Cherry Audio needs suggestions for old analog synths to model, how about the Octave Cat? With its optional Catstick, of course.

Yep. Mr. Google found the whole user manual on their website, so we can know pretty much everything about it now.
Spoiler warning - it's laid out remarkably similarly to GForce's OB-E. Each SEM available at the same time on screen, with the option to zoom in (onto a pair of them, in this case). You can batch them together to control multiple SEMs with one knob, and un-batch them at will. The control options seem quite well thought out, with a lot of flexibility for splits, layers, unisons, etc.
The SEMS are nearly bog-standard, with the addition of a global LFO, and maybe one or two other things. The problem for me is that I'm never quite happy with ADS envelopes, I tend to miss the R. I was hoping that they would break vintage authenticity (as they do quite often), and give us a full ADSR.
Also, from my reading through the manual, I don't remember seeing any mention of velocity control?
The Gforce one gives you a little more to work with for each SEM. But of course, it all comes down to how it sounds, and as we know, Cherry Audio are a bit of hit and miss in that respect. They can come off a bit flat and generic sounding, without much liveliness or detail. Bizarrely, the one that I think feels quite alive from them is the free Moog Realistic MG-1.
