In another thread, I noted that the only subscriptions I would even consider would be Izotope (I use Ozone, Neutron and Nectar a lot), Native Instruments (or, rather, Kontakt), and my DAW (Logic), as those are the only tools I consider essentially indispensable to my personal workflow. So if NI and Izotope had a reasonably priced joint subscription, I admit might get sucked in, especially if the subscription was the only option (or the products were substantially more updated under the subscription than outside of it).

I'm convinced NI will be offering sub, but will it be inclusive of Izotope?
I think eventually yes, but they probably don't have all the details on who will control what, and how to divide the teams. It's an eventuality.
I wish the best of luck to all the NI and Izotope employees. Things keep changing and will likely keep changing more.
Hopefully, with this change, Izotope can finally have upgrades and bundles that make sense? Down the road of course... They said it clearly now that leadership doesn't change and whoever has been in charge has probably been convinced these were all great ideas.

What bad might you anticipate from this particular suck-up? I had a hard time ever getting any replies from Audiaire; maybe Splice will be more responsive, at least initially; fingers crossed:)JoeCat wrote: Thu Mar 11, 2021 4:50 pm Audiaire sucked up by Splice. Lots of consolidation, and the good/bad that comes with it inevitably.

Let’s hope sanity prevails and we get both a purchase and a subscription model.

ha.. if they decide to only offer a subscription model.. that's a deal breaker for me. if they do that i'm out. will just keep my system as it is forever and never give them another dime.

Not sure, but iZotope just did it. And there have been subscription rumours surrounding NI for some time, so interesting timing for this "cooperation". But lets see, the regular upgrades are around 200€ for each new Komplete, right? And getting Ultimate would cost 600€ initial investment at the lowest price. Offer subscription for 25€, pump out paid upgrades more often, offer special subscription percs and regular updates,...maybe throw in a special deal for Komplete owners... I see a market there.David wrote: Thu Mar 11, 2021 7:55 pm Hmmm… how do you figure NI will convert upgrade discounts to Komplete into a sub model?

I think it's worth noting that all Izotope products up to this point will still be available for purchase. So, I assume NI will do the same (things like Reaktor, MX and Kontakt will still be purchasable).
