ariston wrote: Wed Mar 10, 2021 6:48 pm Well, here are my impressions: first off, I love it! I'm a big fan of "story music", as long as it's ambiguous enough to let me imagine my own story to it.
Thank you...with my music (good or bad, you'll usually get a story or a journey of some sort)!:)
The beginning is that rare breed of good ambient - engaging, with great ebb and flow.
Glad it worked for you...that section probably took more time than the more obviously melodic parts!
You handled the transitions really well, the guitar and those lovely splashy sounds in the background were a welcome respite after the initial tension.
Yay! That was very much the idea!
Later on, you pulled off another miracle: the spoken word and "ethnic" singing worked really well for me, and usually I'm allergic to stuff like that.

I know what you mean...it does have to be used with caution in both cases! :) The spoken bits are actually 'Italian Elvish' so seemed appropriate to the mystical Rome scenario somehow! Singer is mainly an operatic performer, but loves the more 'celtic' approach as well!

I don't know if you like comparisons to other artists (usually a touchy subject), but this was like Tim Hecker meets Dead can Dance, which is very cool.
Compare me to anyone you want...I won't ever take offence! Didn't know TH at all and am now busily having a listen...interesting stuff!

Many thanks again for the detailed response.
