Unaspected wrote: Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:07 pm They're not merging. There was no indication of such action happening. Maybe a few people online have said that but the official news doesn't mention a merger at all. "A new technology group, backed by Francisco Partners and EMH Partners", are acting as liaison to ensure a sharing of resources between CEOs of both companies - who will be working together under this new venture. It could be a very good thing if managed correctly.

Of course, it doesn't rule out a merger in the future but both brands are distinct and seem to have a firm footing in the market so a merger doesn't make too much sense right now. This makes a lot of sense and is quite exciting. I'm looking forward to the plans and products that they will announce.
It does give off a little bit of a,
iZotope have announced today the acquisition of the Exponential Audio product line.
type of vibe though...
That would have been a benefit to Exponential Audio at the time; whereas NI is an equal or bigger player than iZotope. Though it could well be that this is an elaborate way of suggesting that the CEO of iZotope is now mentoring the new CEO of NI.

I'm staying nauseatingly positive until we get some proof of what is to follow. I'm not interested in applying machine learning in favour of art but in terms of production line, these companies sharing tech could result in many new products at a quicker rate. As long as quality control maintains the brand image of both companies, we should all benefit.

Maybe if we could get McAfee involved somehow...

You can just hose them down. 8)

I'm out of the thread though. This could go on for days.

the statement doesn't say anything worrying at all.
people often expect the worst, get stressed out over maybes and speculation.
as it stands, nothing has changed if you use their products.

worry about shit when it actually happens or at least is actually announced

(life is much less stressful that way)

I wonder why they released that statement without any details at all. It looks like they wanted to see people speculating or simply didn't think that through properly. Strange move.

I would like it if the Izotope products would use Native Access as the install/reg tool, as it works in linux, whereas Izotope's manager oddly fails at the last step in their process. mi dos centavos...

He probably wouldn't focus on the word merger, as if that makes it any less relative.

Maybe using the word collaboration eases your mind...

I just hope Stephan Schmitt buys out his N.I. shares and reaktor , take vadim zavalishin with him and develop reaktor further under the non linear labs umbrella .
I only care about reaktor , and this N.I. /izotope merging can not be good for us reaktor users .

Edít: okay not a merger but red flags nonetheless

It would be good if Stephan bought the rights to all of the older NI synths and developed them further...

They can keep Massive X as a gift :)

When Stephan and some of the other guys were around, NI were ahead of the curve and creating great tools...

Then the two tools took over and the focus was on the ad copy, the beautiful pictures and the future of sound...

So what happened with the private equity company ?

Were Danny and his Mate forced to sell because they couldn't meet their debt obligations or did they willingly sell their stake to the private equity company ?
No auto tune...

I was thinking it would be great if NI picked up and continued the development of IRIS 2 (very underrated synth), BeatTweaker (I still rate this drum machine!) and Trash. That said, the partnership maybe more like the one they have with Groove3 or melodyne, just away of adding some freebees/tasters to iZotope bundles or subscriptions.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
