I've almost never used a phaser or flanger for anything. What do people use them on and what style of music do you make?

I picked up phasemistress on the flash sale day before yesterday, glad I did, it's a wicked phaser.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

Well, a lot of electronic genres incorporate phaser sounds. Ambient, Chillout, Trance, Techno... you name it. Lot of phasers on guitar in non-electronic genres as well (although I got educated here once that even The Beatles do electronic music (ugh...)).

+1 for Ambient.

You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

Bi-tron is an emulation of the famous Mu-Tron Bi-Phase guitar pedal.

As with everything else, we all have different preferences. I normally try these to find what works best for the specific sound/song: D16 Fazortan & Godfazer, Eventide Instant Phaser, Softube Fix Phaser and I also really like NI Phasis. Those cover me for VST phasers well enough that I’m not feeling the need to add to them.
I’ll also run a sound out of the DAW and thru my Moogerfooger Phaser, or the EHX Small Clone, when I feel the need. For guitar I’ll record it with one of those, generally.
