yeah thats a good one tooOrbitutle wrote:Lange - I believe
you know he had this song up for remix in a contest a few years back.. my entry really stunk though I was still pretty new to everything
I hope more remix contests come out for known songs/artists.. I'd really like another go at a trance remix of a trance song now that I know what I'm (mostly) doing..
maybe we should have a sticky remix contest alert thread.. if you see a (any) remix contest occuring.. we could post a note in there alerting everyone..

I agree Vit. Remix contests are SOOO good for assisting development. Im always on the look out for new competitions on the net!
'Lange - I Believe' was a top tune. The mix on GC Wet was my favorite, very nice chilled out trance. Reminds me of a few good uns' from around that time:
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
Lost Tribe - Gamemaster

okay, so not a trance addict... but there is one track that could have made me an addict, with more encouragement from other trance addicts:
the original version of Age of Love title track; what was it, '91 or around there? f**k I loved that one. Actually the whole 12" was good, especially the second one in, with the heavy breakbeat drums. LOVED that song

.
So I missed the deadline. And I thought my remix was the businezz. Considering it was done before I had any VSTi's, just 2 mid range hardware synths.
Check it out. Remix of Lange - I believe. Mind you it's like 4 years old.

4 years ago already.. I did my entry in impulse tracker on a (IIRC) AMD 380 mhz system with the soundblaster
Did you post any messages in their forums? funny how we might have crossed paths at the time and not known it.. I think I frequented intermusic before I did kvr
and I thought intermusic.com was really good.. so
its sad they dont exist anymore

He he. SB live here.
I'm not even sure which pc I had. Possibly p3 550mhz. If it was out then. Cubase VST 3.7 I think. Whoa....
Intermusic? It was a Future music competition right?
I didn't use forums back then. Only done that for about 2 years.
The remix. You know what. It was recorded before I'd even heard abut compression. So all the compression on the tune has been done during the mastering
Remix comps. The only one I know of is a Fatboy Slim remix and that's for UK residents only. 2.00 am, getting sleepy....

I was working on a Korg D8 back then! It was about that time that it started getting into synths and that - I'd been a guitar only man up until that point.
Just been having a listen to Push / MIKE's new album. Not the best Iv ever heard, but far from the worst. I think he has got the blend of new and old just right with this one. A few few tarncy cliches in there, but on the whole some good work.

How would you describe a song you loved in '93, that you only remember an 8 bar loop of, that's sat in a collection of vinyl big enough to cause structural damage to your house?tee boy wrote:Yeh, that was a good one.
