Cypher (DCAM: Synth Squad) Cypher2

Post

I haven't encountered the issue that the knob just suddenly stops while you are adjusting it, but I've always felt that the response is too slow and takes too many grabs to adjust a parameter over the full range.

Post

I adjust all knobs and mod amount with my mouse wheel and all is working well.
Cypher2 is a beast, it's been a long time I didn't play with it and it's a true inspirational synth, the possibility are endless.

That's exactly what the "too many grabs to adjust a parameter over the full range" is about. The cursor is hidden so you don't see when it hits the edge of the display, stopping the motion of the knob (again, depending on where your plugin window is on the screen).

Oh ok. This has ben the main turn off for me. Other plugins I can always move a parameter over the full range without having to grab the knob again.

Now I am curious.....As I just tried and wondered why I never noticed it.... each knob I just tried, (maybe it is my mouse settings?) I can click on the knob and use my my ball to move it throughout the entire range easily.
Is that just my mouse settings? (Logitech M570)

Trackballs might behave differently than mice. But the showcase I had was: have the top of the plugin window be flush with the top of your desktop area, then tweak filter cutoff in Cypher (since they're in topmost row of knobs, chances are you will reach the top of the display sooner than reaching the other end of the knob. As mentioned before, I'm at 135% zoom in Cypher and 1920x1200 monitor.

Wasn't at all suggesting it wasn't happening to you. I think after your video I was able to replicate it even, but I forgot how I did :)... which suggests indeed it never comes up in my natural workflow with cypher/strobe.

File is NOT trojan infected. What antivirus are you using - it's a false positive, it's hard to tell installers from malware generally & they have got it wrong.
I have the same issue reinstalling Cypher 2 on my new laptop . Bitdefender does not allow the download from the user area, claiming a Gen : Razy thing, and even "took care" of the License Manager previously installed from my external hard drive.

Actually this isn't what's happening for me. It doesn't stop suddenly. It's just really slow and I run out of room on my screen. I wish they could increase the sped of the knob movement.

Glad to see the modulation bug was fixed though.

I should add that, having turned off the active shield of Bitdefender during the process of downloading, installing and authorizing Cypher 2, everything went fine.

It is rather a question of trusting the integrity of FXpansion and believing in the false positivity of our Antivirus findings.

I wonder if they are still working on this and Strobe, as it's been quite a while since they've been updated (2/25/21).

Is anything broken?

Post

Actually there was one thing (didn't affect me) but it affected others that was broken with their modulation system that an attempt to fix it was made before Angus departed but I don't think it completely solved the issue.

A few years ago, I stopped using in projects any plugin that wasn't still in development. Apart from the obvious as a Cubase user that if it didn't have a vst3, one day I will not be able to use it and it would require me using an older version of Cubase to open older projects that did use only vst2 versions, that one day an OS will come to break it and I will be left in the same position trying to open new projects.

So for me, I do need to know something is still being developer for me to keep using it in projects.

my two cents.

Not really. I was just curious if anything was being worked on for either of those two.
