Together, iZotope and Native Instruments will be able to break down barriers and make it easier for producers, engineers, and musicians to realize their creative vision.

Joining forces to further dumb things down using machine learning .
Why does everything has to be easy nowadays ?
It doesn’t raise the bar , au contraire it just lowers it .
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

They need to find a way to make drooling into a cup easier. There are too many barriers preventing dullards from learning how to create music.

That's what that bit of corporate speak really meant...

Consumers are just a means for companies to achieve their financial targets :)

That’s what blows my mind. Who in the living hell goes into music software development in an attempt to maximize income? It’s clearly not the most profitable software sector. True, there are quite a few pro studios with large budgets but it’s a very very tiny portion. Most of your customer base is middle income with many other (arguably more important) things competing for their money.

Today I bought $1,000 in silver. Last week I bought a new 12tb WD drive for $360 with no reservations. Last month it was a new LG display for $600. I’d have to be damn hard-pressed to spend anything near $300 for software other than maybe RX Advanced, because it’s the absolute best at what it does and it’s critical to my work. Same with Logic. And that’s about it.

My days of spending $1000 or more a year on software are long over. With the rate that software companies are acquiring each other or joining forces, it appears that many other people feel the same way. It could just be the economy of course, but it amounts to the same thing. They’re no longer a priority to enough people to make keep their businesses feasible.

i don't know how profitable it is or isn't but venture capital and firms like Bain Capital etc have a way of working. they squeeze all the money out of a thing that they can. work employees hard, treat them like shit, lay people off and extract as much as possible from customers. they don't care what the company or product is they are going to do what they always do.

I think a lot of the tools we use are as good as they need to be for most people, people don’t want to pay what is often a lot of money for small updates. I suspect if something totally new comes out people may find the money, but that doesn’t happen very often now a days. Cheap hardware instruments have also taken some of the money people may have spent on software.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Building on earlier post... I can see great sales for an integrated hardware DAW system -
Buy the interface/ buy the keyboard/ buy the control surface and get an included DAW with NI instruments, Izotope mastering and both NI and Izotope creative effects.
Upgrade to a subscription to the pro DAW if you want, or just stay with the intro level software.

A new DAW? That sounds plausible. Needed? I don't know. Meanwhile, I imagine some staff members at both organizations are very uneasy. How can these companies remain separate and together at the same time? Is this ultimately just like Adobe taking over Macromedia and then going subscription? I lost a lot of purchased software as a result of that.
