Identifying where this vocal sample is from?

There's this vocal yell (sounds like some guys yelling "Zan!" or something like that) that seems to appear in a couple of soundtracks (if they're the same sample):

at ~1:17


at ~1:12
(the rest of the soundtrack also includes it)

A couple things about them: latest it possibly can be from is 1997, and the usage was along with Indonesian/Gamelan instruments/samples in both cases.

Can anyone identify if these were from a sample library/disks, or sampled from the same source?

It could have been sampled from a Ketjak Gamelan record. Any will do, as that is a common element of that style and centuries old, passed on from generation to generation...
