Removing Tracks From A Group Track In Cubase?

I'm trying to remove tracks from group tracks in Cubase.
I want to get rid of all of the group tracks and have the tracks go back to their original routing.
However, NOTHING I can find tells you how to remove tracks from a group track, only how to send tracks to a group track.
When I try just deleting the group track, I lose all sound from the associated tracks.
How do I UN-group my tracks?

Easiest, but not only, method is to re-route from Mixer: change output where i highlighted green to "Stereo Out". (Similar like on red channels)Carpenter wrote: Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:50 pm I'm trying to remove tracks from group tracks in Cubase.

Why don't you just DELETE the group tracks, if you want to get rid of them?Carpenter wrote: Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:50 pm I'm trying to remove tracks from group tracks in Cubase.

Delete it before or after, doesn't matter, the problem is having an output, normally master out (now group channel, now master out again with no group). It's a very simple matter.

I keep my Cubase Pro 11 in a drawer, but wouldn't simply selecting all the track in question and setting output of one of them to Stereo Out work, as Cubase would mirror the setting for remaining tracks?

Apparently the e-Licenser might soon become a rare artifact of the past, so I'm thinking of buying a safe!

If Steinberg is working fast, and the new system comes this year, then you can just throw it away, instead of safely storing it, as Cubase 11 will still be an "active" product, and benefit from the new copy protection.
Maybe you can sell it to some of the eLicenser fanatics on the Steinberg forums then.

It would be a nice feature if you decided to delete a group or FX chain, have a right click and "Delete and reset routing to default" i.e. stereo out. Or just delete which would leave the routing going no where.

If you delete the group tracks, routing goes nowhere right now, AFAIK. I agree that it should be automatically routed to the default (Stereo Out, first stereo pair, or whatever that is).LeVzi wrote: Tue Mar 23, 2021 12:06 pm It would be a nice feature if you decided to delete a group or FX chain, have a right click and "Delete and reset routing to default" i.e. stereo out. I would put it forward as a feature request but i've already got a support ticket open so I need to wait the mandatory 4 months for that to be dealt with first

1. Select all the tracks assigned to the Group
2. Open Routing in the Mixer Rack
3. Press and hold Shift then add and hold Option
4. Click on any of the selected track’s routing (currently a Group) and reselect the output of choice.
All the selected tracks will reassign to the new selection in one go. If necessary, the Group can now be deleted.
Yes, it would be nice if there were a dedicated contextual command to ungroup tracks. In the meantime, the above will work.
