Best horror music sound library

So far I've found the ProjectSAM stuff to be good, a bit of 8dio free angels, sound iron choir and Omnisphere.

Any particular libraries that are must-haves?

Not a sample library, but I'd take your list and simply add Absynth to it....it's positively filled with amazing patches for horror. Definitely the best synth for creepy atmosphere.

Some Bela D solo vocals like Paravox are pretty much horror-dedicated. Children's choirs in general (I guess Audiobro Genesis is the best) are big. Extended string techniques, too - I can sell you those for solo strings, Spitfire LCO strings is probably what I'd go to for ensemble stuff.

For ambiences, stuff like chaotically rattling cowbells etc, not sure.

Elements by VSL, contains a bass waterphone, the manipulations of an XXL TamTam out of Stockhausen Mikrophonie, large lithophone and several glass instruments. Speaking of which, SonicCouture Glassworks is fantastic for sound design with its filters and filter envelope capabilities.

Glassworks has those Partch carboys bowed, called Cloud Chamber bowls. Not that much overlap with the VSL, but some. Verrophone for one, glass armonica but it's its own approach, Glassworks. Makes an interesting synth really.

You nailed it, Glassworks and Geosonics but i didn't want to tell anyone (ie. forgot).
