I think it was an equalizer which Image Line then used as the model for Fruity Para EQ 2.

U-He Diva, back in 2012. It was a wise purchase, and it is still among my most used synths (and may in fact be the most used).

I really wish all of my many, many subsequent plugin purchases were so well-considered. Sadly, my overflowing folder of often-unused plugins shows I maybe should have gone "one and done," at least on soft synths. I really don't think I'd be missing much, especially if I allowed myself Hive and Repro too.

Cycling 74 Pluggo 2001, along with Reason 1.0.
First VST/AU soft synth beyond Pluggo would be Absynth around 02 or 3. Then Komplete 2 in 04.

I think it was the direct-x versions of Ohmboyz, (and Quad Frohmage, Hematohm, Predatohm), all of which I used to excess. Had ReBirth RB-338, and NI Generator (pre-Reaktor) which aren't technically 'plug-ins', but iirc were out about that same time frame (mid-to-early late 90's).
