Bitwig is 7 years old today   and they're giving a Bitwig 8-Track license to existing users so that we could gift it to a "friend"

PM me if you'd like that license (becoming my friend is NOT obligatory) :)

Hopefully other Bitwig users will join me in this initiative!

I have been trying out Bitwig 8 track on Linux Mint for the last week or so and it works very well. Shame that they cripple it to the point that its not really worth having apart from being a useful demo tool. On the plus side it does make upgrading to Bitwig a bit cheaper.

Ableton Live Lite on the other hand is a superb 8 track version of its bigger brothers and well worth having. Back in the 1960s whole LPs could have been recorded and mixed with Live 8 track using its bounce down and 32 bit export features. It works in Linux using wine but I could not get wineasio to install in it. Shame, as Linux is becoming very nice to use now.

Kinda worth it, just for the sampler. Though I think it is slightly crippled as well.
