And you being able to use this to trigger sonic events that heighten the tensions.. or hint at resolution or ????
Probably self induced and lack of imagination...
I don't understand your reply at all.

Computers are tools we can use to create things. In my suggested product, AI is simply detecting a condition of a signal, and allow you to use that condition to trigger other actions. Very much the same as you might with a gate or compressor. How you choose to vary the type of "tension detection" and how you choose to trigger a subsequent event or processing is up to you.

It is just another creative tool that would offer artistic choices.

Imagine having a variety of "tension maps" along with tempo and such.

This would need to function somewhat like an ARA plug-in like Melodyne.

Artificial Intelligence is just that, artificial.

Not having the ability to have feelings and emotions, is kind of a big deal.

Because, that's where most artists make their decisions from.

which is where the artist using the tool comes in.
im not sure we are there yet with ai personally for it to work yet, but given time, and enough data, it could work.

although, might be fun to get a virgin ai, and use my own "data" to train it rather than someone else's ideas of what to feed it.
that could be fun and interesting :)

You can teach a computer, but you can't teach it to be human.

Post

don't intend to.
already got humans to do stuff
and some of us, use computers as tools in many creative endeavours :)

AI can learn to recognize patterns in a fashion as humans do.

This isn't the same as being human.

It's a tool.

nor are instruments
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

They'll always require input from humans to invoke emotion, otherwise it's just a bunch of 0's and 1's or robotic parts controlled by 0's and 1's.

Unfortunately, Artificial Intelligence is only as good as the code.

Honestly though, I'm really not sure why you'd want a computer or code doing the work for you? I mean, you want some preset settings based on your meta data, sure. But, why would anyone want the computer to be the creative artist for you, that's the fun part.

Sure it can suggest EQ, Compression and Spatial decisions based on coded parameters determined by a coded standard. But, to expect it to help you become a master at the art of songcraft is just wishful thinking.

I think some people actually believe that A.I. can be something more then what it is. It's simply just 0's and 1's and a whole lot science fiction behind it. They've been talking for a decade about how computers will write emotional and compelling music, we're all still waiting...

which very well could be an art form of the future, you dont define art...I can easily see AI being worked into many art forms by creative people

I guess that's true. Everybody has a different standard as to what they enjoy or even call music. I think there's a whole genre dedicated to just noise, so who am I to judge.
