I understand the need for Pro Tools certification because this is a pro market with companies potentially hiring Pro Tools operators (post production facilities or professional studios). Apple already discontinued their certification program because there is not much of a need in the creative, "make music", mostly by yourself market.

Live is also a more of a creative music tool. Did anybody actually came across a job opportunity where a Live certification was required?

I don't know about job opportunities, but certification gives a little extra credibility to people putting themselves out as independent consultants/trainers. But the people I know as successful Ableton certified trainers already had viable producers/artist careers. Also I know Live is used in a lot of theater productions as part of a show control system (including lighting cues).

It does give that little bit of of extra credibility, but it's faar from needed. What you have done in the past, and what results you've generated, should speak to the majority of your skill set. I have never seen a specific requirement for Live certification.

Agree with last two posts. Probably not for a job but does look nice for independents.
