Has anyone had any successes (or failures) with freelancing websites? I am seeking work doing audio mixing, editing, etc, but am at a loss for where to go and what to do.

The intent of my question: how does one (amateur but knowledgeable) make money doing audio related things by looking online? I feel lost.

Fiverr. You won't necessarily make much, but people will actually have work for you.

Thank you :) I will start there. Do you think Fiverr would also be a decent place to grow/earn more? Or is it more like a stepping stone to different avenues?

 I hope to avoid that. I’ve got a drawing of their logo with a circle and strike-through on my whiteboard.

well, first up (not being mean, just realistic)
why would i hire you? do you have a portfolio of work out there anywhere for people to hear your skills?

networking - that's the best way, getting known for "that thing". being a nice person to work with, versatile, gets the job done on time!

as an example, a little of my own experience...
many years ago, i would hang around a friend's studio. (there was a common room attached, not disturbing work)
just as a place to chill (when saying chill was cool, im old)
would obviously meet and chat with a lot of musicians, make them a coffee, nip the shop, run errands ..
then a band needed someone to help out with some live events. offer to help set up with their sound guy.
sound guy needs night off, you step in.

that sound guy, works with other bands, you've done him a huge favour in his eyes, he offers you more work as you are dependable and know what you are doing

some of these bands, want to go in the studio, live sound guy is not in to studio work, you offer your services...

did i get rich?
nope, far from it, but..
i made as much as i would working my balls off at minimum wage in a supermarket for 40 hours plus a week (did that too) and guess which was more fun ;)
money isn't the only benefit to be gained from working in this field, if you're willing to put up with times where you may be eating noodles every day, the mental benefits from not doing mundane thankless jobs is also worth it :)

just some bits to think about :)

oops lol i litterally kinda just made a new thread about this. Like i just want to find people that want music made for them lol other than for my own self. The most i ever did was when my friend asked her to make a mindfulness meditation track for her project at school
