The original mix of Depeche Mode “strange love” destroys the 2006 remaster. I thought progress was better? What happened?

Haven't listened to either the original or the remaster (linked video is which?) but my initial thought is one should blame the Loudness War.

was poisoned electrick head and clouddead i had problems playing, she didn't like the vocals on either.
despite one being prog and one being hip hop, she did actually think they were the same band
