So, a couple months ago I was surfing videos and happened upon a video of Amy Lee of Evanescence singing their hit "bring me to life" with an orchestra and a band called Wagakki Band from Japan. I'm not a huge evanescence fan, but that version was fantastic, and the mix of rock and traditional Japanese instruments led me to check out the rest of the Wagakki Band catalog, which is fantastic. What follows has been many weeks of happy discovery of a lot of great bands as I descend the YouTube rabbit hole.
I've always been fairly agnostic about lyrical content (weird, because I wrote all my old band's lyrics) I like glorious loud noise far more than I like delving into someone's socio/psycho/political babble, so not understanding a word is not a barrier to me. I'm also pretty agreeable on genre. I like complicated proggy stuff, energetic punk, hard heavy metal, electronic stuff, funky/bluesy/jazzy stuff and anywhere in between.
What I've found so far:
Japan: BandMaid (hard Rock), Wagakki Band, Ningen Isu (sabbath-ish), Maximum the Hormone. Dir en Grey
Mongolia: the Hu (Mongolian Folk-Metal)
Brazil: Motorocker (AC/DC in portuguese!)
Germany: Rammstein (been a fan for decades)
and I just spent a wonderful evening listening to Argentine band Eruca Sativa.
What other great stuff am I missing? feel free to suggest away!

Thanks for the replies, so far liking Sigur Ros and Kikagaku Moyo quite a lot. presuming that "oh well" is an actual suggestion and not just a bit of passive aggressiveness (you never know) I did find a German dance group from the 80's, and a not terrible artist who produces trip hop with that name, but both appear to sing in English. The Gorkys zygotic Mynci and SFA Welsh tracks themselves didn't do much for me, but I did spend a bit of time exploring the rest of their stuff, and found a lot of great Early Pink Floyd vibes with both groups, and since PF is my favorite band all time hands down, thanks for the tip!

Thanks! that's a nice slab of space rock awesomeness.
and... I love baby Metal, should have mentioned them earlier, but I think of them as more of a metal Vegas act than a band. It's all good, thanks again.
edit: missed the Arabic band at first.

I think you just birthed a new genre!
