Inputting values in SunVox

I'm getting back into trackers for giggles. Their heyday was before my time, but I have used them in the past for emulating video game music. So I'm trying SunVox out on PC.

I like to use sample offset to skip around samples, which means putting in XXYY values, which brings me to my problem: whenever I input a value, SunVox moves forward a line! So, if I want to type "07 1234," for example, I actually have to type "0, up, right, 7, up, right, 1, up, right, 2, up, right, 3, up, right, 4, up, right." This is quite a frustrating way to work.

Is there any way to change this behavior so I can type out effect parameters in a natural way, all on one line?

Howdy. I gave it a go today and I know what you mean, but I couldn't find any way to change the input behavior. Maybe I missed it, but yeah you might have to do what you did all the time. If I find anything different I'll let you know. Good day-

Thanks Jonathan. I actually went and posted this in the SunVox forum, and got the answer: when you are in pattern edit mode (padlock open), there is a little number under it. If you click that number it turns out to be the "edit steps" setting - if you set that to 0 it stops the automatic scrolling.

This also means if you set it to a number higher than 1, it can jump more than 1 step at a time. I can see this being useful if, for example, you want to put straight eighth notes and skip 2 lines per note entry.

Ah ok that sounds like how Renoise does it. I am still a newbie to trackers but really starting to respect it more than being intimidated by it. Maybe when I'm more adventurous I'll dig into Sunvox, it has its own unique spin. Good day-
