I had just looked in the 'what are you listening to' thread. Saw several Coil posts, thought

when I saw Horse Rotovator.

Then I saw this thread. Very sad news.

i forget a lot of things.. but there's a coil/throbbing gristle connection somewhere. if only they'd influenced all electronic musicians instead of the greater portion.

oops I opened a thread cos i didn't see this one.

I said i'm not one of those who have idols, but well it's a pity. musically I mujst admit Coil were almost dead for me, I only liked one of their cds in the last decade, but some of their works (Loves Secret Domain, Horse Rotorvator, Musick to Play in the Dark...) are just great.

With the death of Jhonn one of the most inspiring musicians in the avantgardistic art of music passed by. I'll share my condolence with all COILists on the world. May he not be forgotten.

The Dreamer finally is asleep now. Shall he find his peace...

a sad coincidence:

In a Coil album, they did a cover of Cohen's 'Who by fire'. It was sung by Balance and Marc Almond. Balance has died and Almond is in a very grave state and he was near death last week because of an accident.
