I can audition and listen to MIDI loops in the loops and samples library, but once I drag that MIDI loop to a track, I have no info about what vst or soundset the library was using to play back that MIDI loop when it let me audition it. I just want to play back that MIDI loop with whatever the loops and samples library was using to let me audition the sound.

How do I find this out?

Not sure I understand the problem, never had any issues with these functions. I make my own midi loops sometimes and here's what I do to use them.

Use media bay to find and audition the midi loops you like. Then double click the ones you want to investigate. This will create a new track in the project window with the vst loaded and the midi loop on the track. Press play to hear it play in the project. Open the vst instrument window to get the info on the sounds used and what not.
