I tried Ableton in arranger mode, and quickly gave that up too, it was so strangled compared to the other DAW I was using, was really not good.
ableton arrange view is less sexy than a north Corean censored porn vid :hyper:

I usually record into the clip launcher in bitwig and then drag bits and pieces into the arranger from there rather than recording directly into arrange. I just find this keeps variations/takes/etc all separate like a little notebook.

I used to use it..... Then I get stuck in it and nothing got done in over a year.
It's the same reason why I'm afraid to use blocks mode in reason. And thankfully bitwig doesn't show clips first so I tend to forget and I can have them not showing at all on the mixer unlike ableton

You know you can change starting templates in both Live and Bitwig to open however you want, right? :D

Live?
Ableton's Dead to me. Idiots can't figure out how to add more EQ curve options :hihi:

But I know. Bit first things when you open Bitwig, Arranger. Live, Clip launcher.
Also I never found a way in Live to get rid of the clip launch section like I can in bitwig.

I’m an FL user. Had Live for several months and experimented with clips but it’s just not for me. They are a hindrance to my workflow.

Mostly number 3 but I do go back for occasional clip jamming with a new element in a working project

I like to open Bitwig in mixer mode and load XO as my beats and Rapid for some synth sounds find my beat first then make a nice midi riff usually ill then get a bass sound going from another vst then just go through a load a shit load off samples usually deep house or some Berlin techno samples into Bitwigs clip launcher and jam it out! I've hit gold before by happy accidents. I always record it and if I'm happy ill then record it into the arranger and tidy it up...

If it works for you, then you're doing it properly :)

I hate the term "clip launcher". The term has a stigma attached to it.

Its a "clip recorder".

A "clip launcher" should be just that. An app that can launch and mix commercial loops and has no pretensions of being a musical recorder.

I like the idea of Ableton like "clip launcher" in Studio One, and I'd be using that if there was something like this (and thought Show page was something like it). But I have never used on before, just saw people using it in Ableton.

Why? In my case I never recorded anything into the clips and I also never used any commercial loops, because I do everything from scratch myself.

How should I call the feature then?
