well.... Mabye i'm the only one, but as soon as i changed hosts from FL to Cubase I found a world of possiblities open up, and found once i had learnt how to use Cubase that the level of my productions- the sounds that i used and the overall mix- improved dramatically.

For a start, the plugins that FL is supplied with, nice as they are, aren't as nice (to me, anyway) as some of the plugins Cubase is bundled with. Some of the FL plug-ins are basically useless.

(and just to digress: if you do happen to like the fl vst plugs, you can copy the DLL files into another (VST compatible) hosts directory so u can use them w/out fruity loops)

Another thing: The FL piano roll just isn't a decent way to write melodies. The Piano Rolls found in most other hosts is much easier to use, from my experience.

Anyway, i can't be f**ked going into anything in anymore detail, but i will say this- forget all this crap about "don't blame the tool"... whatever. WITH ALL ELSE BEING EQUAL, you're going to get better sounding music from a good software package then a shithouse one.

Anyway, these are just my opinions. I still love fruity by the way, i think you get great sounds out of it, i just wouldn't want to use it as my host. I feel pretty much the same way about Reason too. Remember, if you find you are being limited by FL, manye its time to find a new proggy... and if you do, its not like you've wasted all the time you've spent learning FL because there's always Rewire, or you could just use FL as a sound source and render things out, which works just as well.

Can you give some exemple about what you can do with Cubase and not with FLStudio?

well, this opinion is very surprising. FL piano roll is one of the best i've ever come accross, and i'm not the only one who says such a thing (with better words, maybe

are you sure you use the piano-roll? maybe you only know the thing that opens with the button on the right of the step sequencer?

I don't thinks it's a matter of what you CAN do. More like... Ergonomics and appereance.

I don't think changing hosts will give you better results. well, may be in terms of rendered audio quality. FLS piano roll is best and easiest one that I have ever played with. I agree with the people here that the samples included in it are not the best. Buy one sample cd with lotsa kits then you are done. It's very flexible as far as VSTi/DXi's are concerned. Good thing is selected channel respond to computer keyboard so you can audition the patches/presets. I'm waiting for V5 very anxiously. I want that elastic engine other things comes second to that for me.

the samples included in FL are poor...well, if you have bought the program you have access to 2 gigas of samples from Samplefusion, and they ARE good!

this is a point i'd like to understand better. i'm a XXL registered user, but when i go to the Samplefusion website with my regcodes, i can only download some samples from the list, one by one... and not all the samples listed. i've never bothered to ask if i miss something, until now... is it possible to download the full content in one clic?

that's about right. rip the program apart. learn every one of its tricks and you will find flstudio is an excellent piece of software

i realise that this is your opinion, but are you saying that flstudio is a shithouse software package? what makes you think that? it's price tag?

I think that you must buy the CD's if you want have all of the samples. For download, just a few seem available
