Hey, thanks for the Input :) yes, fully aware of this, we currently have a Virus C stripped down and know what every component on the board is

Update: Finally, took a big step forward. We are reaching areas in the code now that have unimplemented instructions. The Emulator is now running around 80Mhz

Hi numerouno,

congrats for this, very interesting indeed. Have you any specific idea / goal for this project ?

For example, an open source 56K (+ several system specific) emulator plugin (capable of executing "roms") ?

That would be awesome :)

What exactly does that mean? :)

HUGE UPDATE: We currently have the Emulator running the Access Virus C ROM to the point that we are now able to load patches from the factory bank and have it output audio

Here are a couple of Audio examples:

Basically the Virus runs around 120Mhz, we need to get the emulator running at the same speed :)

Not just Virus. Basically any synth that uses the DSP56362

So what will be the end product?

A Virus C emulation? A wrapper that whould allow running Virus PoCo or TDM on a regular PC? Or what?
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

I wonder too. Sounds to me as if you'd have to own the hardware, or the Powercore or TDM version of the Virus to be able to legally use this.

Indeed, it doesn't seem one would be able to get a Virus PoCo/TDM license now.

Are you going to release a final product?

ROM emulator. You'd need to source the Virus firmware ROM youself.
