Yup. RIP Steinman. He was a cool guy and interesting character. That Sisters record were good music. I saw them twice touring those records. Good Goth rock music.

I shouldn't be surprised that on this board that is what he is best remembered for. Honestly I wouldn't have guessed that he had anything to do with Sisters based on his more popular output.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

there is a really cool Bat Out of Hell Classic Albums episode where they have him in it quite a lot. He was a very funny and entertaining character. Full of humor..mumpcake wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 1:54 am I shouldn't be surprised that on this board that is what he is best remembered for. yeah it was.. but when you look past all the mythology of MeatLoaf ... and just look at the music for what it was.. it's basically what Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street band would sound like if they did camp on Broadway..

That's a fair assessment, not my thing but I admire his production talents on those records. And I did have a brief thing for Floodland at the time so...
RIP.

Actually he was the songwriter on Bat Out of Hell. Todd Rundgren produced it. If you listen to some Utopia records, you will hear the similarities in sound. They were all done in the weird studio Rundgren had in Woodstock, NY.. also some really ground breaking new wave records done in that studio .. early Psychedelic Furs and Lords of the New Church..
Those Sisters records were cool for their time.. but they haven't aged well. I think they had Eddie Martinez on guitar (the same session player that played on Robert Palmer records.. )

They were always way OTT to me but that was the appeal. Though find it hard to listen to them now, stuff like that incessant snare, just horrible. Those Sisters records were cool for their time.. but they haven't aged well.
